So I was wondering if anyone else was having an issue with the gas company after they came for their government mandated inspection. They came for mine and demanded that I would have to pay them to move my meter since a porch was built over my gas line. A. Bought the house porch was there B. Permit were opened and closed for porch meaning city officials deemed the porch ok. I was told I would have to have the street dug up to turn off the gas line that exists now and another area of the street dug up to install new gas line and the meter would have to be relocated in my basement. I was told I could only hire Elizabethtown gas and no one else. (Monopoly)...My thoughts are I pay a service charge every month because Elizabethtown Gas owns the lines that provide the gas to my house so why are they attempting to charge me for lines that are theirs. I see where I would be responsible for moving my lines inside the house after the move the meter but for me to be responsible for there lines? I was told someone else in the area had the same problem and was wondering what your outcome is?

Starting this billing cycle, the only way you can pay online is to accept their outrageous $2.95 "convenience fee" via Western Union. 6x the cost of stamp, really? Hopefully most people are smart enough to write a check and pay them via snail mail. This should be illegal for a public utility.
