DO NOT WORK for this company, unless you want to work for people that are hypocritical, only care about how many sales they get, or are selfish and only care about thier bonuses, or threaten you to do things. I couldn't believe when my boss told my co-workers and me at a store meeting, that the DM told them to tell us that "Well they (my co workers & me) are messing with your pockect book (manager) so mess with thiers." the manager's response "I want my bonus, and I'm cutting your hours down if you don't make sales." I couldn't believe it. They were so harsh, um... can you explain to me how I'm suppose to get sales when the store is dead ? Also they like to accuse people (mostly teenagers) of stealing. Every time a teenager would come in the 1st thing out of the manager's mouth, they are going to steal something. Some of these people were my friends and I told them this and they were really offened and don't shop there anymore. The Manager is even rude to customers, one time this person came up to the gate (the mall was not opened yet) and asked when we were open, the manager snapped when the rest of the mall is opened and walked away... then the person sadi well, , F* you and the manager couldn't understand why he was so rude...um... I would have had the same reaction. That was horrible! They really wanted to look around. The manager is hypocritcal, Oh I never have my cell phone out on the floor, here they are texting and calling other managers to complain about employees ( which is against company policy) would go in back and talk on the phone for 2-3 hours with them. Then the manager not once but twice made threats against me on a social network, telling other managers that I was not a nice person, I have those threats saved. They are pretty horrible. I even asked the manager about one of them and they lied about it saying oh I mean people in general, Then I was threatend to either quit or be fired, if I quit then they would give me a good reference. If you know what's good you will only shop there but DO NOT WORK there!
no this is not my 1st job, the day they fired me the manager threw a fit, called the DM said that they were putting in thier resignation, hysterically cried in the bathroom, said I sucked, and after every sentence they said that they are going to be fired I had to listen to this for 3 HOURS! They are CRAZY! The Assistant Manager is a liar, and lied about things also...they are a horrible company. I have never ever been at any job before that a manager cared more about thier bonus then thier employees!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have been working for the company for over 2 years now. I can tell you that anyone with bad comments need to check their work ethic because this company treats their employees fairly, pays competitive wages, and is the most understanding company I've worked for in 15 years. A bad manager doesn't reflect on a company, so people complain about bad managers that are probably no longer with the company, are null and void.
My experience as a hiring manager is that people who complain, are people who don't do their job
I dont work at this company but loved all of their stuff when going to the mall. Literally everything I love stuff thats earthy and relaxed. I got 2 pairs of their sterling silver earring collection last year and they were $16.00 a pair, which isnt that bad and I havent really worn them at all, no longer than a day atleast because I switch my jewelry alot and I have worn my favorite pair the black (onyx?) stud earrings for the past 4 days and for some reason my ear was itching so I decided to take it out to scratch it and its completely red, bleeding and has clear gunk coming out of 2 small holes on each ear! I have a nickel and brass (cheap jewelry) allergy and I only wear gold, platinum, steel, titanium and sterling silver for that reason but I cannot find an explanation as to why Im having an allergic reaction to these "sterling silver" earrings?! They look like their sterling silver, Im wondering are the posts on them only sterling and the top part (front design) made of nickel or something?! If I didnt get these a year ago Id come in and return them ! Unfortunately these are my favorite earrings and dont know what to do. This blows! I really hope their not selling fake sterling or selling solid sterling earrings when only the posts are sterling!
I worked as a first assistant manager for this company. This company will slowly devour you...first suck you in, chew you up, and then spit you right out. Extremely unprofessional and unethical company. I received a write-up for changing a Christmas CD! Totally under-qualified management teams with no sense of training their employees. The company is screwed, stores close left and right and I saw a total of 10 employees come and go in 6 months. Don't be blind by the "cool, cultural product." There are many, many things wrong within this company and I would not waste your time or energy working here. Like I said, it will suck you in, chew you up, and then spit you OUT!
OK, I completely withdraw my positive comment about the company. I was trying so hard to stay positive...but it just because downright impossible to. They are dwindling down and firing people left and right for small things. They are hypocritical, liars and do NOT care about their PEOPLE. I lost 3 vacations and got so tired because I was constantly going. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY NOW.
This company is hypocritical. The thing about it, is it has no morales. The president of the company sent out a One Voice before I left, stating that 2012 was the second best year that they have had since 1994. What does that tell you? This company is going down rapidly! Set back and watch it! I am!
I have been employed with Earthbound Trading Company for 4 years and I just got promoted to Store Manager. This is a great company to work for with lots of opportunity for growth. I do feel bad that you both had bad experiences with it...maybe I just had amazing DMs and a great team behind me. I wish you both well on every thing you set yourself out to do! :)
I was hired by Earthbound after a long job search. I was so happy because I was going to be full time. I had to go to Houston to get my ss card (I was hired in Lewisville, 4 hours away from my hometown) I told the hiring manager that I was going to Houston to get my card and I would be back Monday night. I turned in my stuff on Tuesday morning and the manager fired me because they were late... WHAT?
