Dr. Kotler had been my surgeon for a number of years and had both performed procedures on me and consulted with me just prior to a procedure with another plastic surgeon. I was grievously and permanently disfigured and damaged by the plastic surgeon, Dr. Bang. My 5th and 7th nerves were severed causing paralysis to both my right eye and mouth. My face resembled a Picassoesque stroke victim. I was so injured that for 6 years I have lived like a hermit and had 15 eye surgeries thus far. Dr. Kotler had the nerve to charge me $2, 000 for a consultation following this botched surgery that destroyed my life. He did not take any photos so as to compare them with previous photos he had taken of me. What's even worse, he wrote a short statement
stating that I "Had traded one set of problems for another." How could any ethical dr.
compare normal under-eye aging to a right eye that now did not even blink, a left eye with a partial blink, and eyes that did not match in any way and looked like they belonged to 2 different people? Under-eye wrinkles and loose skin are not in any way comparable to permanent paralysis and disfigurement! I can only conclude that Dr. Kotler thinks it's more important to stand behind the medical professional establishment than to stand behind his patients. He's another example of a total sell-out!
It is true that Dr. Kotler has been able to remove all the unflattering reviews of him, except for those on Complaintsboard.com Mine have disappeared from Yelp and Google+.
It is interesting to note that Dr. Kotler charges only $200 for a consultation if the appt. is to discuss potential plastic surgery with him, and that is applied to any scheduled surgery.
As a former patient, however, when I was butchered by another plastic surgeon, the consultation fee was $2000. $1000 of that fee was charged for photographs, which he never took. I am adding this additional post as a result of Dr. Kotler's bullying and threats.
Other patients have alluded to this. Recently, I received a threatening communication from Dr. Kotler. Besides its tone of self-rightousness and combativeness, he wrote that his lawyers were ready to sue me if I did not retract my posts. Dr. Kotler monitors websites and bullies because he cares about his carefully promoted and cultivated reputation above all else. He could not write the truth about what had happened to me, but glossed over it because his loyalty is to the medical establishment, not his patients. He is a bully and a moral coward. In addition to that, I read his rebuttals to dissatisfied patients and saw that he
will also lie to defend his reputation. For example, it is not impossible for a nose to get larger following a rhinoplasty. As one former patient wrote, factors such as the thickness of the skin can cause this. I know this is true because it happened to me with another doctor and many doctors, including Dr. Kotler, noted my "thick skin."
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

BE AWARE THAT DR ROBERT KOTLER AND HIS STAFF TROLL THE REVIEW BOARDS WITH PHONEY REVIEWS! This was brought to my attention by a patient from the East Coast who knows his staff well.
They are created for reputation management to counteract a few complaints made by a handful of male and female patient's against failed procedures they had by Dr Robert Kotler.
These phony reviews have appeared in plasticsurgeryspot.com, healthgrades.com, realself.com, google.com, vitals.com and more. Actual real reviews have been rejected for publishing (paid to be removed by Dr Kotler's clinic).
Dr Kotler and his staff have also trolled on boards, pretending to be patients, under some fictitious names such as: heath2011, Olisbos, wolfman2009, zippo, Sarrah.
I had botched surgery by Dr Kotler. He issued a rebuttal, full of fabrications. In Dr Kotler's response he keep referring to me as a she but I am actually a HE. The damages I have sustained remain.

Dr Kotler and staff have trolled the boards under different aliases: heath2011, Olisbos, wolfman2009, zippo, Sarrah.
They have posted some phony and completely fake reviews, each with a "5 star" rating extolling Dr Kotler and announced like a cheap marketing campaign. They have been posted under the following profiles: Mona Howe, rgd193, elisabeth215, HappyPatientInCalifornia, djoyce, Dana3262, Jfried, deniz99. Fake reviews appear on REAL SELF, COMPLAINTS BOARD,
