I have been buying the Dr Pepper zero sugar soda and A&W zero sugar Root beer for a long time. It has been about a year or more, where every time I open a bottle of the zero sugar Root Beer you can smell it before you put it to your nose. Its smells horrible like mold and mildew, inside a dirty gym bag that has been inside your truck for weeks. This has been going on for far too long. I also file a complaint with Dr. pepper through their website, and I sent over the bottle information the store where I purchased it from I even offered to send them in an Un open bottle so that they can smell and see what I’m talking about. I received an email back from them, may be a week or two later saying they need more information. There’s not that much information on the bottle to send you except for a few numbers and I gave them all of that, I just felt like they didn’t care. This has been going on for so long. I even had my sister who stays in another city and state tell me that the same thing is happening in her area. I have had enough. I cannot take the smell anymore I am just going to buy another product since they can’t seem to find clean smelling bottle caps or bottles. It’s obvious they know about this smell because I see others have been complaining as well. I can’t keep drinking something that smells like old wet socks! It seem to have gotten worse after Covid!
Desired outcome: Clean bottle caps, bottles, and provide the product that I am expecting and paid for. With todays prices with inflation, fact we should be Refunded for all the products we brought like this!
Tonight I opened a bottle and first time I smelled mold and was scared to drink it. I googled to see if there was a recall and saw all these comments... ugh won't be buying this anymore after this!
I'm addicted to A&W Zero Sugar Root Beer. This is my first 6-pack that smells like mold/mildew. It's so strong I almost can't drink it...almost. I can pour it in a glass. I love it so much. :)
Mine tastes like mold for a couple years as well. I just got a pack the other day and same thing not to mention they aren't even putting expiration dates on the pop.
I love A&W zero rootbeer. I have been drinking it from the beginning, but I just got a few six packs from walmart and opened one today. It smelled like mold & mildew, so I looked on Google and saw this post! So it's not just me! We've got to do something about this! This is the first time it's ever happened to Mr, so whereever they are bottling this or maybe something they are doing is NOT right!
My husband and I purchased a six pack of A&W Root Beer 0 Sugar on October 30, 2022. When we took a drink of it, we could smell a moldy/mildew smell. We thought it was on the outside of the bottle, so we got another bottle. It smelled fine on the outside, but when we opened it, it too had a moldy/mildew smell. Beware, contacting company to bring it to their attention, we don't know if it will do any good, but it doesn't hurt to try.
My husband and I just purchased a six pack of the 0 sugar A&W Root beer. (October 30, 2022) We didn't notice it until we put the bottle up to our mouths to get a drink, We thought it was something on the outside of the bottle that smelled like moldy/mildew. We sat it aside and opened another bottle. We smelled the outside of the bottle before opening it, and it smelled fine. However, when we opened the second bottle, it smelled like moldy/mildew also. We're going to contact the company. Beware, it will make you sick!
We are in Coastal Mississippi and the same thing with the A&W root beer bottles. It's awful
