On August 18, 2020 I purchased a kitten from Donna DiGiovanni. She is a hairless Peterbald Sphynx breeder out of Methuen Mass. This was our second kitten from Donna. Our first came home in June of 2019 and his name is Pierre. We named the new kitten Boujee. When he came home to Us his eyes were a bit red and right from the start he had soft stools. After about a week of being home one morning he woke up not acting like himself. I let Donna know he felt warm and we decided that I would take him back to her. After about a week she said he was better. When he came home he was playful, spunky, ate well and we really fell in love. He was good for about 2.5 months. I did notice however that his third eyelid was visible and it continued to be visible. I did let Donna know about this and she thought it was maybe a scratch. I knew it wasn't a scratch because it was both eyes and it was constant. After countless visits to the vet and ophthalmologist nothing really helped with the eyelid and stools were still loose. Now I had looked up cause of third eyelid and one cause was underlying illness. By the time December rolled around Boujee wasn't acting normal at all. Mostly sleeping all the time and not playing at all. It was really sad. He was scheduled for neutering so I decided to have some bloodwork done to make sure he was fit for neutering. This was on a Friday. By Sunday he was not eating and just sleeping all day and very warm. Also his belly was like a water balloon. Took his temp and it was 104. Took him to emergency ER where they also did bloodwork. The doctor let me know that what the bloodwork showed was consistent with fip. He took some fluid out of Boujee's belly and it was a yellowish fluid, also consistent with the wet version of fip. So at this point he was suffering and we had to make the decision to euthanize my 8.5 month old baby. It was heart wrenching. We had him cremated and have his ashes in an urn. I let Donna know that Boujee died of fip. She thought I meant our older cat we bought from her and right away said "well if he had fip before bloodwork would have shown it". I think she was insinuating that if he had fip it wasn't from her cattery. I then let her know that is was the baby kitten who had fip not my older cat. We had only had him for 4.5 months. She then never got back in touch. I sent her 3 emails about any help she could give us. We spent so much money on his care and I was hoping she could have reimbursed me some of the $1400 we paid for him. He didn't even live a year. She has never gotten back in touch with me. It was only After Boujee's death that I found some bad reviews on her cattery. Before this all happened Donna and I had a good relationship. If I had questions about both my boys she would always get right back to me with advice. Now I feel like she's an unethical breeder. When you purchase a kitten from a breeder you expect that this kitten will live a long healthy life. Boujee lived 8.5 months. I realize now she has no health guarantee on these kittens. Another red flag. My vet has said how dangerous it is that Donna is breeding fip into her Cattery. I hope that no one has to endure this pain my family and I are going through.

I had a horrible interaction with her VIA email when attempting to get a cat. I’m happy I went with a different breeder

I just had the same experience with her and she went off on me. I had to threaten her with the police to get her to leave me alone. I did call her some names after she went off on me as I had spent weeks emailing her and trying to get this kitten as a present for my husband. When she asked for payment via Apple Pay she came up as a fraud account and when I asked she made an excuse about her card being changed or something ridiculous. BEWARE. I will be reporting her
