Desert West Landscaping review: Outside masonary wall modification

May 18, 2023 I received a quote from Desert West Landscape (affiliated with J&J Landscaping). Work to be performed was add 1 course of blocks, match existing wall contour, repair existing mortar cracks, install vertical rebar every 3rd block, stucco and paint. Prior to accepting contract his worker removed the cap block to see inside wall. Could start next day and finish in 5 days which was incorporated into contract. Signed contract and provided $1,800 dollar progress payment that was cashed May 19, 2023. It is now June 6, 2023 and no Jesus Juarez, workers or material. But I have a busted wall! The time between has been nothing but empty promises and excuses. This includes its going to rain, cloudy, truck broke, truck wrecked, no crew or unplanned emergencies. In my documented messaging with him pertaining to the missed completion date and actually starting the work his words were worthless. Today June 6, 2023 he said he would come to house and return initial payment. Of course he was a no show. I have come to realize that J&J Landscape has the manpower and equipment and sister is the bookkeeper for both companies. Both companies do not have AZ Contractor licenses and its cash or check transactions.
