I received a phone call from Money Essentials after dabbling on the internet and looking not to seriously at finance options. They asked if I was still looking. The first thing I asked was that I was more than happy to have loan quotations. Loan quotations do not leave a foot print on your credit file, unlike most loan applications. After establishing that I had not been bankrupted or on an IVA. I was asked if I had a bank account. Like the majority of people I do. When that was established I was asked for the card details to verify the account. I did question the reasons why they needed my card etails but unwittingly gave them and even made a joke of the fact that they would probably take money upfront. " we can`t charge up front fees, it is against the law" I was told by them. Having done that I was then notified that information about lenders would be sent to my email address. Nothing came through. Last Wednesday 14/03/2012 I received i loan offer from FLM Guarantor Loans now known as Amigo. I dismissed it as junk mail. The next day I noticed that £79 had being taken from the account the card was tied to-my rent account, leaving that account short.
In my view as I didn`t (1) Agree to paying for anything and (2) Get told I was paying for anything. I have being defrauded out of money. Think of it this way. You phone up a company to buy a product, you then agree to pay by card. Your details are taken and you are then told that the payment has gone through. If at a later time they decided to take more money without you knowing would you be happy. NO of course not. This is exactly what this unscrupulous company did. And sadly, what they do is LEGAL! The perception is according to my bank that whether or not you agree to pay for anything the meer aspect of giving card details is automatic authority for them to take money ...without verbal consent from either party.
The sad reality is that the staff who work for these companies believe what they are doing is right. I would love to make a vist to their call center and smash the place to friggin bits with a sledge hammer...only to the value of £79 though. Be warned Money Essentials, Debt and Credit Centre, AK Management. I am on to you so if you have any sense crawl back under the stone you came from!

HI ...i used this company and they were very quick in taken my fee of £79 ...basicly i changed my mind as i got help from my family, so i emailed them for a refund...all well and good so far within the 14 day time limit i might add...i have had 3 e-mails saying ..yep you can have your money back minus £5 for admin costs ( HA HA )...BUT THEY WILL NOT BE TIED DOWN TO A DATE, THEY KEEP SAYING THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 1974 ALLOWS THEM TO KEEP IT FOR 6 MONTHS...i phoned on the 11/1/2012...12/1/2012...and just now the 19/1/2012 ...asking for what pharagraph of the credit consumer act they refer to...the manager of custormer relations tried looking for it ...but surprise surprise could not find it ...just said under the c c act 1974 blah blah blah...she also said they may keep it till 11th july 2012...i cant believe a multi million co can not pay £74 back into my account...no wonder profits are good for this sort of company...plse be warned ..i could ill afford that £79...it may not seem a lot but when you are down to your last 79p..it is a absolute fortune...as i said plse take heed of this company and warn your friends about it

Money Essentials are absolutely and categorically not a scam and certainly do not just take money from people without their authorisation. It is slanderous to suggest otherwise. Money Essentials are one of the most consumer friendly loan brokerage companies in the UK and we pride ourselves on an open, ethical and transparent business model. We have been issued and hold a consumer credit license, recently renewed by the Office of Fair Trading. The Office of Fair Trading has complete knowledge of our business model and we are a fully licensed credit brokerage company.
When you the customer, make a loan application with Money Essentials, you are advised we do not charge upfront fees. This is because we do not believe it is fair for a customer to pay for a service they have not yet received. We aim for our customers to receive a loan before our fee is taken. You choose when you pay the fee, usually between 1 and 4 weeks after the initial application is made. This date is agreed and then confirmed by you, our customer. If you’re not happy with the service by the time it comes to pay our fee, you can simply contact us and rearrange the date on which the fee is taken, or cancel the service completely, whichever you prefer.
We aim to match you, our customer with the very best lender that is available to you based on your circumstances. Because we work independently on behalf of our customer and not on behalf of the lenders, quite often the best lender for you is one we don’t have a direct relationship with. We therefore won’t necessarily receive information from lenders to tell us if and when a loan is paid out and so unfortunately, there is no way that it would be possible for us to charge the fee on pay out of the loan.
If an application is taking longer than expected and it looks like you, our customer, will not receive a loan, you can easily rearrange the date on which the fee is paid at any time by simply contacting us. We cannot help you, cancel, or refund unless you tell us you are unhappy with our service. We also cannot offer you alternative loan options unless you make us aware that the first matches we make are not right for you. If you tell us you do not like the loan options provided in the first instance, every effort will be made to help find you a more suitable lender.
If any customer is not satisfied with the service in any way, all you need to do is contact us and request a refund. Queries of this nature will usually be dealt with within 7 working days. If any customer wishes to contact us to cancel their application for a loan, or request a refund please email me at enquiries@moneyessentials.co.uk. I hope this helps. It is essential that you contact us directly if you need assistance.

Kind regards
