David Alford *aka* Max Steel is a thief, a con artist, a liar, and a deceiver. He owes me several thousand dollars that I will never see from working for him. He refuses to pay employees, and fires them via text message, phone call, or e-mail when confronted. I personally know that he has taken advantage of unsuspecting customers, sucking money out of them for services that he did not provide. To prove how fake of a person David is, check out his Facebook profile. Funny how he cannot even do business under his own name because people, employees & clients, are finally speaking out about how he treated them unjustly. He has been doing this for years and will never change. Something must be done to put this crook away for good.

I agree with all of these posts! This company is the most unprofessional and crooked company I have ever seen. This company designed a website for us that was virtually useless. We hired a real PROFESSIONAL web designer to try to fix our site so it was functional. She put her name on our website and then we received the most unprofessional email from David Alford filled with gramatical and spelling errors demanding we put their name back on our website or we would have to pay them $1, 000. We contacted the company and told them that is fine we would put their name back on our website and then and hour later they blocked our website. We were then told we would pay them $500 or they would destroy our website. We had several conversations with Chris Allen and David Alford trying to resolve this issue (we agreed to do what they asked which was put their name back on our website)and we were cursed at, called names and hung up on. We finally paid the money but these people are nothing but unprofessional trash who extort money from clients and treat them like dirt! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Having looked at the company's web site, I have to agree with the folks who are suggesting no one should use this company for their projects. At first glance, the main site looks good, and if I hadn't seen the complaints here and elsewhere I might have been sucked in and contacted them, or should I say him. However ... I decided to look at everything much more carefully. I checked out some of the linked web sites. Now I don't claim to be perfect, but I did find various glaring issues, including some dodgy grammar and spelling mistakes, missing links, inactive buttons, various pages with the same blurb, no blurb, and so on. Peering closely at those screen shots that are supposed to be latest projects, many of them definitely are just basic templates, most still contain the typical Latin paragraphs.

Sure, a few have been tweaked to look as though they belong to real companies in Dallas, and there are a few live sites mixed in, but judging by his dismally poor post here, the owner had a hand in the copywriting for them, because those sites showed up other examples of poor grammar & spelling as well, even some generic template wording still in place too. So - even if this guy does pay the staff, which I doubt somehow, I still would not use his company.

Staying anonymous, but I'm one of his few remaining employees and none of us have been paid from the last pay day yet. Atleast one employee has quit over this, and now 2 more people were just brought in to start working for us. I plan to quit later today if I am not paid. This coming from someone that knows personally that a statement like "anyone wishes to ask or check our ethics, business practices or anything else for that matter our door is always open" is a blatant attempt to cover up how he is. He brings in unpaid interns with promises to pay them full time after 30 days, fires them once their time is up, and brings in more people. He makes all these excuses about being unable to pay us but I've heard phone calls where he is collecting money from projects and I know that money has came in.

Karma, David? The only one that should worry about that is you. You are a con man, a thief, and a liar. Thank you for wasting my time and my expertise without paying me. When you get sued for this, I hope karma takes away everything from you, just like you did that to us, your employees. The people that make you all the money you somehow don't have to pay us.

I have been a MySQL / PHP developer for seven years. I wasn't getting a whole lot of clients doing freelance, so I decided to look for some web design companies to contract for. I found David's ad online and responded by going to the 'office' for an interview. I was interviewed by a project manager that had just been hired only days before. I was a little wary, seeing as how his entire development team had just quit, and the 'office' was a mess.

After a few days I started to realize that this guy, David, had no clue what he was doing. He didn't know how to run a business, much less even talk to customers. He would pile projects on us that had been sitting for weeks and even months with no contact with the client - and he wonders why he got so many charge backs. I also noticed several ex-employees coming into the 'office' on and off nearly every day asking to get paid for the work they did when they were in his employment. None of them ever got paid - he always had some excuse why he couldn't pay them.

The working conditions were awful. The 'office' was a complete mess, all the furniture was old and abused and falling apart. There were nasty bugs, half the time the lights didn't work, and the internal network was a mess. David himself was disgusting. He would spit dip while he talked, sometimes into random trashcans and sometimes just on the floor. He smoked at least two packs a day, a lot of times right in the office. It smelled like ###. Every other word out of his mouth was an F bomb - he was very unprofessional. He looked and acted like he came right out of prison.

I had been tasked with developing three websites - two small and one large. After about two weeks I completed each of them, however I kept all the files on my own laptop and did not give them to anyone. I wanted to make sure I got paid for the work I did. Of course when payday rolled around, David had some lame excuse for everyone as to why he couldn't pay. I immediately quit.

Later that evening. I received a call from David, demanding all the files for the sites I had built. He told me to bring them in that next morning. I asked if I would receive a paycheck - he said that if I gave him the files, he could 'collect' on the money due to him by those clients (who, I knew for a fact, had all ready paid), and then he could cut me a check. I obviously knew this was a load of bull.

I waited till the following Monday to go back to his 'office'. I had all the files on a flash drive. I told him I wanted to be paid for two weeks of work and I would give him the files and even make sure the websites got set up right on the servers. He refused, told me I was 'stealing from him' by not giving him 'his files', and said he was going to call the cops on me. I laughed, and told him I would see him in court.

I immediately went to the Dallas County court office and filed a claim against him. This was nearly six months ago. He has yet to respond to the court order. When the trial gets set, if he doesn't show, I will file an execution against him to collect what is owed to me. I have witnesses and signed statements from other ex employees and clients. He messed with the wrong person this time - this guy needs to be taken down for good.

I am Daniel White, one of the web developers that David Alford screwed over. I worked there for 1 week and completed 4, 000.00 worth of work for him. ( I verified this by looking at his white board with all the customer totals on it). I'm completed 3 joomla websites start to finish and after 1 week he wasn't paying. His second in command, who I am good friends with to this day, told me that David was struggling. I spoke to 3 gentlemen that worked with me as developers and confirmed that not one of them had been paid in WEEKS. This made me very nervous because I have a 2 year old child, a house payment, a wife and a dog. Too much responsibility for the "promise" of a payment. I told him that I would be quitting and needed to collect the money for 1 week worth of work. He told me that he had "no paperwork" on me and that according to him, he owed me nothing and I was never employed there.

All of these complaints are from ex employees (we think it is just one ex employee) who have been hired for specific jobs and not one has delivered anything they said they could.Everyone one of them here could not do even close to what they had on their resume or said they can do. The bottom line is we can not afford to have people here that can not do the work. You can think and post till you are blue in the face but the bottom line is you lied to get the job and thought you could wing it and couldn't. Everyone that goes and gets some $99 software or hacks adobe products and puts up a couple of cheesy websites thinks they are a web designer all of a sudden then out trying to get a job doing for a living and they find out fast they don't know anything about this in the real world. Because of these bad experiences with our company we have hired a 3rd party company to screen our programmers and developers better to make sure we get quality people that can actually do the work. All of these people were supposedly freelancers and came here because they could not keep any business coming in themselves and they come here and see how our business is structured then think they got it all figured out and try to steel the clients on the way out the door. Its just said that instead of going and finding a job more suitable they want to get online and post negative comments about a company to try and do harm, but people with any common sense will see right through these posts and know they are just the same person just posting different stuff over and over trying to cause harm, but it does nothing. If you are a potential client considering using our services please do not let these comments affect your decision to move forward. We guarantee all of our work and have a great team of dedicated people ready to work hard for you. Despite these or this person trying to cause ill to someone else, I personally wish them the best and hopeful they will get a life and someday get bored of writing negative comments online about us. But in the mean time if anyone wishes to ask or check our ethics, business practices or anything else for that matter our door is always open.
