John Robert Powers of Bloomington, MN appears to have changed hands yet again. The same people who did some interesting business practices there are now starting their own company called D&A TALENT.

These are the individuals who stated that kids would be meeting with high level individuals in the industry as well as promising things which could not be provided. The only way you will ever get to meet the top agents and people from LA & NYC is if you pay to attend their classes. Even then, you will need to audition to see the agents.

How do I know this? I previously worked for Connie Steckling and Heather and they made me participate in these scams until I quit.

I am already listed on IMDb, they state that they have many contacts throughout the industry. I have checked with many of my friends who are members of sag, and they are unrepeatable! After my interview they told me that I was uncastable because they don't look for people who look between 30 and 42, which obviously is a lie, because they say that they cast for movies, and episodic shows, like Chicago blue, and Chicago Fire, which the average characters are in that age range! They are a scam! Looking to take advantage of children's parents. They prey on the hopes and dreams of young people for-profit!

I looked at the D&A Talent website and was unable to verify any of the so called "facts" you spouted in your diatribe. The website itself is amateur and appears to be "under construction"; which if this company has been in business for any length of time it should already be well established. I also checked with the BBB, in case you don't know what that stands for, aka the Better Business Bureau and D&A Talent received an "F" rating. If the complaint was false why didn't Connie Steckling and/or her professional, reliable and legitmate staff respond?

In response to the original poster: First of all, you obviously have some sort of personal vendetta because your claims in this post are both untrue and slanderous.

Yes, it is true that Connie Steckling who is the owner of D&A Talent used to own the JRP Bloomington location. However, she left the JRP franchise after 3 years due to the fact that she didn't agree with their business practices, and it made it difficult for her and her talent especially since she did things THE RIGHT WAY!

Connie and the staff at D&A make no attempt to hide the fact that she used to own a JRP, in fact, it is one of the first things every single auditioner is told when they walk in the front door during an audition.

“Interesting business practices”? Sure if you call interesting the fact that D&A has a PHENOMENAL talent success rate, meaning that over 85% of their contracted talent are working in the industry. Can you please tell me where else you can find that?

As far as meeting with "high level individuals in the industry"...you must mean those helpful people otherwise known as agents and managers? If you actually knew what you were talking about, you would know that "these people" are actually brought in for the talent to meet with on a monthly basis. How else do you think the talent work? Don't believe me? Go to their website and read the testimonials FROM THE AGENTS AND MANAGERS!

“Promising things which could not be provided”? Wrong again! D&A never promises anyone that they will become a star, or even that they will work. The only promise D&A makes is that their Talent will receive top of the line best in the industry development (if necessary), and guaranteed auditions with industry pro's. D&A provides their talent with realistic expectations of the industry.

“The only way you will ever get to meet the top agents and people from LA & NYC is if you pay to attend their classes. Even then, you will need to audition to see the agents.” Wait, I though you stated earlier that these people coming in was an empty promise? Now you’re admitting that they actually are brought in? And as far as having to take classes in order to meet them, you’re wrong again. If you had actually worked there or knew anything, you would know that D&A provides strictly marketing (No classes required) as well as development for brand new people. And yes, when you go in to meet with the agents and managers, you are auditioning for them…therefore IT’S CALLED AN AUDITION!

Next time, before you decided to try and comment on something you know nothing about, make sure and get your facts straight. You surely aren’t “Protecting Minnesota” as your user name implies by spreading lies and giving the public false information. You should be ashamed of yourself.
