Cub Cadet - 3224 power wash

Purchased power washer about 2 years ago. Was looking at Stihl and Generic as well. The reason I chose the Cub Cadet was the warranty and the quality of the water pump.

The water pump stopped working so I brought it in. After 2 weeks the Service Team Leader, Adam C. said the pump isn't working and then asked me if I flushed the system with anti-freeze. I replied that I did not read anything like that in manual or told at purchase before he looked at pump. Now, I feel he is trying to find any possible reason to make it my error. There is a suggestion/option to use on of Cub Cadets products but not listed as part of maintenance for warranty. Didn't even notice that when first read manual. He then went in the back and took apart the pump and comes out showing me internal parts that "might" have been damaged from not flushing with anti-freeze. He stated that he could try to clean up for $130. If that didn't work to buy a whole water pump for around $350. I think I paid $500+ for this.

My feeling is that this dealer was trying to back out of the warranty before they even knew what was wrong with it. I discussed the anti freeze with a few friends that are landscapers, as well as a couple of small engine mechanics and none of them heard of this anti-freeze thing. I am not an expert on power washer so the dealer could have probably given with other reasons the pump went out that wasn't covered under the warranty. They chose one that only make sense to them.

So this leaves me with no power washer and no quick resolve. From reading some of the other complaints it seems that Cub Cadet isn't much better with their customer service as well as the dealer.

It is obvious I won't be going to that dealer again. I have bought other lawn care products from them in the past and they are only helpful on the sales side. Not sure if I will be able to reach anyone at Cub Cadet that could help either. In the future the purchase is all about a good dealer, not the brand name.
