Driving eastbound on interstate 24 on Mount Eagle, west of Chattanooga. At 10:50am Sunday, April 3. Climbing the mountain one of the covenant transportation truck drivers pulled out in front of us. He was in a string of trucks doing about 25 miles an hour, and we were doing close to 50. We burned a lot of rubber to stop before we hit him, and there was no way for him to have NOT known we were coming or he was pulling out in front of traffic. Not safe, and there is no way to call and report them on the one 800 number on the back of his truck. No one answers the phone, and there was no extension to report bad driving.
Desired outcome: Fine the driver, pull the driver, fine covenant. A standdown safety day for the entire company to retrain them on proper driving techniques.
