I have a timeshare with westgate resorts. Timeshare Genie contacted me in march last year and assured me they had a customer interested in leasing my share and that they needed me to register with them inother to represent me. Since I paid them over a year ago, my sales rep only contacted me once and would refuse to speak to me anytime I call in, the company only sends me random general messages which seized over six months ago. Till date, there has been no communication from them. The company is a scam. I chose them simply because I live abroad & marketing my hotel room from here has been difficult. I want people to know that the company, the marketers and their promises are all a scam.

Thank you for your post, I decided not to go with timeshare genie and when I told them I refuse to put money up front they ended the call.

I too am a victim of this company who called me and again it was Linneth Wilson. I have tried to call them and have gotten the run around with the same old BS that they are in process of working on contracts with people and it will be rented soon. This is a scam and unfortunately i am forced into looking into ways I can recoup my funds and not get ripped off by these people. Has anyone contacted a lawyer in regards to this problem? Is there something that can be done about this scam?

I agree fully with the 2 alerts. I am a victim to the scam of Timeshare Genie. Like one of the above complainants, I do live outside of the US and saw this as an opportunity not to have to do the marketing of my timeshare myself. I was contacted by one 'Linneth Wilson' who, in reading the second post above, I understand is deceased. I would caution timeshare owners to avoid any of these 'timeshare re-selling companies'.

Points to note: every time I call to follow up on their progress, I am given a different story and the explanation of what had been originally told to me when they contacted me evolves with the passage of time.

THIS IS A SCAM. SAVE YOUR HARD-EARNED DOLLARS, PEOPLE!

Today this Linneth Wilson called me too, with this great opportunity of renting out my apartment for a very attractive price per week (USD4555/room)
So people be aware of these practices. A bell should ring as soon as they ask you for your credit card number.
1. I googled Linneth Wilson. Google's first hit = surprise)
Linneth Wilson, 75, Salisbury, died 12-16-2013. (http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/delmarvanow/obituary.aspx?n=linneth-wilson&pid=168639074&fhid=2778

2. The company website http://www.yourtimesharegenie.com/?page_id=12. Called their phone number listed on the site...no answer.

I called Westgate Resort to check if they work with this company and they advised me too, not to deal with this company.
