New Tech Drywall False Billing & Poor Workmanship

First, the response from the owner to previous comments on here are bogus. I have tried to contact Roy to resolve the issues of my concern, and have been ignored and hung up on; so I very seriously doubt he would have assisted the other customer no matter what actions they tried to resolve the issue.
Now, in my case I requested a quote - only a quote - thru Cameron Development who was doing some other work on my home. When I arrived on the day of the quote, there was no quote (the only estimate provided was a blanket rate of $250.00, thru Cameron Development), but Ralph the drywall guy was already doing installation work. I did not hire this person, I only asked for a quote, which was never provided. And instead of the cost being a "blanket price of $250" the actual cost was closer to $900!. I tried to explain to Roy the owner that the materials I was charged for were already on hand and purchased thru Cameron Development, there fore I should not be responsible for paying for those materials twice, but no credit was offered. I further explained that there was never more than one person on the job, although I was charged for 3 people's hours. I also explained that the job was finished improperly causing me to have to hire another contractor to correct the problem.
In order to "resolve" the matter, no credit was ever offered to me, yet a late fee for failure to send payment for work that was not authorized, materials that were not purchased, and labor that was not received was charged.

New Tech Drywall Damaged walls, walked off job

We were extremely disappointed with the quality of work done by New Tech Drywall. The walls of our beautiful new home were destroyed and left unrepaired. The owner walked out on a job not completed and left scratches, gouges and cracks in the walls and ceilings. Our only recourse now is court action. Do NOT hire this company to do your drywall or painting

I have employed NewTech Drywall to do several big jobs at my home over the past couple of years and have always been extremely satisfied. Not only did the crew do everything requested very professionally and expertly, they went beyond my expectations to point out items that were overlooked by others and myself and corrected these issues as a matter of course. No additional fees were charged. Jobs were started and completed within the scope originally presented. Their workmanship was outstanding. I would not hesitate to employ this company again nor recommend them highly to anyone. Linda K. Pinckney, MI.

Steve and Carol;

I'm truly sorry that we weren't able to achieve the finished product that you were hoping for even though we came highly recommended to you. Had you contacted New Tech Drywall at the start of the project and allowed us to do the installation and finishing we would done things differently and enhanced the chances for success.

We would have examined the walls and ceiling for crooked studs and trusses and recommend they be shimmed, furred or replaced to reduce the chance of shadowing.

We would have used larger sheets. That would have reduced the number of end joints.

We would have staggered the end joints and never break all joints on the same truss.

We would have 'Floated' the end joints with a special backer material that makes it easier to cover and hide end joints.

We would have taped and bed coated the seams (side, recessed joints) within the recess instead of prefilling the recess then adding additional tape and taping compound.

Even then, a level five finish would have been recommended on the ceiling and walls of the great room. A bright sun reflecting off the lake will highlight every flaw, scratch and speck of dust. Depending on the sheen and darkness of color you may need several coats of quality paint with appropriate spotting of the drywall in-between coats.

We've never painted anything for you, your comments are undeserved.
