    nco owns the debt?
I thought thye are the coll agency that just takes in the moneyh and does what the creditor wants them to do.

Hbc is underwritten by G.E. General Electric.

Just like the home depot card is underwritten by citibank.

You never know who's pocket your money is going in unless you checks them out BEFORE you take out he CC

    CA$H is KING

I had a similar experience. I was contacted by NCO regarding an outstanding balance on an old mobile phone. The NCO rep explained that the account had not been reported to the credit agencies and if I pay the debt in full the account would not be reported. I was unsure about the legitimacy of the debt, but it may have been valid, and the outstanding balance was low enough to pay simply to avoid the credit dispute process. Long story short...I paid the account on the spot, in full, and 30 days later it shows up on my credit report with an unpaid balance. This is no way to be treated.
