Marsha Peterson / Nonpayment for Services Rendered

1 Nashville, TN, United States Review updated:

Just a warning to any professional dog sitters in the Nashville, TN area; Marsha Peterson will hire you then never pay for your services. This woman currently owes me over $500.00.

It's always sad when someone takes their own life. I can only hope her family and animals are okay. I'd have to guess the circumstances were at least in part financial, which makes the situation even more sad.

This woman also scammed a breeder of rare dogs in Portugal. Thankfully, the puppy was not sent to her. Steer clear of this woman!

Shame on you! The medical community takes care of all of us, however, they don't take care of their own. Marsha had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. She was passionate about her career, saving thousands of babies lives. Sure, she had a lot of pedigree dogs, but is that a reason to take her medical career from her? Really, have her arrested for having dogs! You need to ask yourself, what is important in life! By the way, mission accomplished, you know who you are.

Marsha was a mentally ill person. She was arrested numerous times. One arrest occured on Christmas Eve 2009. She broke into a home and brutally attacked someone causing them bodily harm. She was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and grand theft. She was indicted by a grand jury. Marsha hired a very fancy expensive attorney and tried her best to get out of it even though she admitted everything to the arresting officer and magistrate. When she knew she couldn't get out of it she threatened the life of the victim. Everytime the victim was in court she walked by her and stopped to stare her straight in the eyes. She told people she would get her back. This person hardly knew Marsha. The only reason their lives crossed paths was because Marsha took a puppy from her and never paid for it. Marsha was obsessed with dogs and wanted that puppy even if it meant breaking the law. The victim went into hidding so Marsha couldn't find her and for good reason. If Marsha knew where she was that day she probably would have killed her instead of herself. She was a violent person and apparently could control it at work only. Although she did call the victim from work before the assault giving her another excuse as to why she couldn't pay for the puppy, then said "I have to go, I need to be waking up a baby from surgery right now." She worked at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital and thank God they fired her.

Respect is a two way street. This woman never did pay me and I did a lot extra for her because she made me feel sorry for her, plus I had to pay another pet sitter out of pocket because she ran out on her bill to me. I can only hope any remaining animals that were in her care found good homes. Spending all day in a cage is no way to live. I do wish she would have found the help she so desperately needed, and I hope her soul rests easy regardless of the hurtful decisions she made in life. Do I wish I'd gotten paid - of course - but it taught me a valuable lesson to never trust someone just because they have an MD attached to their name.

Does anyone know to get ahold of her sister or anyone who would have known her? We sold her a PBGV puppy in Feb. and had no idea about her death until yesterday. We just want to make sure that our Bertha is safe, healthy and wanted, if she's not wanted we will happily take her back. Please contact me, Leone Coryell if you have any information lcoryell@thegroupinc.com
