Howard Hanna of Green/Uniontown practices borderline unethical business. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance in real estate transactions. This goes for all concerned. For Buyers and Sellers dealing with Howard Hanna, it is much more important. I recently sold my house through Howard Hanna. They have a practice of charging, what they call an administrative fee of $225 on all transactions. They attempt to hide this fee by burying it several pages deep in your contract. These payments go to the brokerage but the agents support it as well. The agents won't specifically point it out unless the client brings it up. After the contract is signed it is too late This includes buyers who normally don't pay commissions when purchasing a home. When I used the same agent that sold my house to purchase my new home, she did the same thing to me on the purchase side. When I questioned her about it she responded that "it is on page 6 of the contract." I guess in her eyes that makes it ok. Even though the Title Company lists these fees as Additional commissions, the explanation I received was that they are for document storage. I have a background in computer technology and data storage is very inexpensive. So Howard Hanna, continue to be greedy and people will discover the truth.
