Shocking service provided by AMK branch
Hi. Today 15 Feb ard 11am I went to Amk branch to cut hair. I was being attended by a chi lady with long hair and spec. Her attitude was bad and face black. I ask her to just follow how previously it was being cut. She hai loudly? Then when I sat down she said my hair spoilt? My hair is not spoilt is perm for cny! She can't c?
Then she shaved my sides of my hair on left and right. Now got 2 botak spots. I ask her let ne see the mirror and was shock. I told her I can't Accept she panicked and ask for her manager. She never apologize and kept insisting it is my fault!
Her manager came and continue to trim and shave?
I told him I can't accept my side hair on my face never ask cut so short and my back of my hair also?
Still insist I am at fault? If she dun know how to cut go home. Not happy to work go home! Dun vent her temper on my hair?
She shave and cut my hair so short on purpose? She thinks I am a lesbian?
At the end het manager never charged me. It is not able payment it is the trust I have in them is not there!
I signed up e package at amk. I will never go amk again!
I demand an explanation and apology!
Desired outcome: Settle this!
price of member and hairwash service
I feel cheated and uncomfortable for the service they gave, which is ask to pay 1000+ dollars for hair wash. First time to wash is 79 dollars. I asked can just pay for the first time or not, the staff ignore me and suggest me to pay half first. I still cannot afford then ask me to pay 530 dollars.
Now i feel regret and want to ask for refund of my payment just make 79 dollars for the first wash. I will not go for this salon again.
Desired outcome: Refund payment 451dollars back to me.
Bad service and unreasonable temperature scan
They put the temperature scanning device at door. Seems useless as the lady who wearing tag 29 are actually asking me to pull down my mask for scanning. I rejected to do so because it is so nonsense to unwear mask in public, especially in this pandemic!
Change your temperature device or change your staff please!

Unfinished package cannot be used
I booked an appointment for yesterday to do up my hair (cut and dye), went down to ecoin at marine parade, only to find out that I needed to produce my membership card so that they can use the credits left in it (around $260 left). I was not told b4 and I hadn't used this card b4 as well as far as I can remember.
I was told this amount will be forfeited since I cannot produce the card. INTERESTING. Because the company clearly has a record of my package and how much I have used thus far.
I'm not sure what kind of a system is this. I tried searching for this 'card' at home, something i dun even know if I was given in the beginning. And I can't find. Looks like I have just donated my 200 over bucks to a company that has little integrity.
Pls look into this matter. I wish for a refund because I dun even want to step into ecoin again.
Thank u.

Desired outcome: Refund
Bad service and lousy stylish
Before I enter there is no explanation of need to be waited for long, second after a long 30min wait, suddenly a female came in which I overheard she is no appointment and seems to be good friend with the stylist n he prior her first.
Last the cutting is worst and no style at all, the stylist still need my advice to cut on where... Tpy branch suck when the stylist had changed...
Desired outcome: No need, feel like waste my membership
Service
I was in need of a quick haircut and I stumbled across e coin at yishun. On the window it showed $10 for a haircut and $8 if you're a member. I told myself "hey $10 isn't that bad." but it was, it really was. Right after my hair was cut, this woman brought me towards the counter and asked me whether I wanted to sign up for membership and I said why not.
She told me to key in my initials and the right after that I noticed a "$50" in the computer and I asked her why am I paying $50 and she said that this $50 is like a (to put it simply) starbucks card so you wouldn't need to bring your wallet in whenever you want to cut your hair.
And obviously I told her that I don't want to sign up for the membership and I asked her to cancel it. And here's the funny part, every time I asked her to cancel she persistently said "sorry cannot cancel cause I already entered your info into the system already." I was shocked once again and I told her that I was short in case and I couldn't pay for it. And it resulted in her saying, "so how? Go ask whether your friend can pay or not or you call someone down to pay for you."
At this point I was so frustrated because on the computer there was a "cancel" button but she didn't want to press it. I had no choice but to pay that $50 even though it wasn't worth it.
That place is horrible and their hair cuts were not decent at all. I calculated how long it will take me to use up that $50 and it will last at least 4 years.
As I cut my hair after 2 to 3 months and they explained that everytime I go back there to cut they will minus $3 from that $50.
Everything was so misleading and their attitude was horrible. Do not go to that place ever. Ever.
Service
Very misleading. Saw the shop outside said haircut-$10 and after the haircut they told me if I wanted to be a member, afterwards calculating total it would be $50, I then denied and said that I didn't want it anymore and they said that I can't change it anymore, so I was a bit frustrated and upset feeling it was actually a scam since I was the last person before closing
this is exactly the same thing the hairstylist told me. i insisted on cancelling the membership but she kept on telling she can’t cancel because she already entered my info into the system even though the cancel button is just there. i even told her that i’m short on cash and she didn’t care and just asked “so how? go ask your friend whether they can lend you money.” i was so shocked by that comment that i had no choice but to pay that 50$ . i even calculated how long it will take me to use up the entire 50$ and it takes about 4 years. outrageous, their hair cuts aren’t even that decent.
Your staff claims no boss number
Ecoin.sg in amk on 31 oct 10.30am.. bad experience..thermometer staff was v rude.. she asked me to stand even though the other staff asked me to sit as there is no customer to occupy the seat.. she has no sense of customer service and merely busy with her own work.. "force" customers to cut hair! I took pic of the store to prove i was there.. she thinks i took her photo.. b4 i go.. she shouted behind me to ask me go see a doctor n eat medicine.. everyone heard! Its so shocking...cheap but i will never step in ever again! Worst experience ever!
poor staff's attitude
I was there at 0955hrs - waiting for my haircut at 10am. The female hairstylist was impatient when I tried to explain the hair cut that I wanted. At one stage - she asked whether the hair trimmer was at No 1, I have no idea of the number to set for the hair trimmer and she commented that she didn't know what I wanted and walked away-telling another hair...
Read full review of Ecoin.sgmisleading and dishonest practice
CASE Singapore received many complaints against the hair saloon Ecoin in the past. They reinvented themselves by changing their name from Ecoin to New Station and continued their dishonest ways of getting customers. I don't understand why they are allowed to continue to run their operation when it was clear that their victims included our senior citizens.
I'm writing this because of I am a recent victim. This time at the Bedok Branch. They have people stationed outside their saloon announcing to people about a $5 haircut without making effort to make clear the condition attached to it. When I walked in they ushered me in in a very friendly way, made me sit down and had a hair dresser attend to me immediately. At this point, who would ask questions about a $5 hair cut?
At the end of it, then they told me that the $5 per hair cut is for member, for non-member it was $10. This was done after my hair cut. When I had no choice they further said that there was another condition which was that the $5 is for a package valued at $50.
When I refused the package, they showed their displeasure on their faces making it a very unpleasant experience.
number of times used
I was with the hair salon today doing my usual hair treatment. After that I was at the hair receptionist. The lady in charge was not happy, immediately face blacked with me as I did not sign on for another massage therapy. Hername is Lin. She loudly declared that the card was ‘ruan qi bah cao' don't know how many tones I have utilised the package. One time treatment cost me $169 and I did another one as the hair stylist said I need oxygen for my oily hair. I am very frightened to go there even today. Can I change the branch so that my stress is released? My

poor service
I've had my hair cut at the outlet at boonkeng today.
Let's just not talk about the 1h waiting time as I understand that the cheap prices are attractive.
However, once it was my turn, the hairdresser dissed my hair quality for being too rough, dry and tangled. She went on to ask me if I comb my hair regularly. I apologised for my tangled hair but I told her I wash it everyday.
She went on to pull my hair with all force to try to untangle it rather than doing it professionally. I told her it hurt but she blamed me for having "bad hair". I kept quiet as she was too intimidating. My friend waiting for me at the side could clearly see the amount of hair the hairdresser pulled out and told me it was heartbreaking to see the hairdresser treating me like this.
I'm sorry for the natural bad hair quality, but is it right to blame a customer? Is it right to be so harsh with a customer's hair? Is it right to treat her like a doll?
I am a member of ecoin v long ago and it is quite shocking to see their attitude towards customers change over the years. Now I can say "proudly" that I'm embarrassed to be a member.
I know the price is attractive but for the waiting time and the service you are getting, it's really NOT worth it!
i’m complaining about service
I am ecoin member.
I and my kid came to ecoin Toa Payoh branch to do hair cut for my kid on 3rd November. We were waiting for more than 15 minutes. I told the salon in charge that we had been waiting for 15 minuets and asked about how Long I needed to wait. In fact, free hair dressers are there and they ignored although they saw the customers were waiting. After I asked, one dresser came and started hair cut. During hair cutting, I was telling my kid not to move head and tilted. Once the haircut was almost done, the dresser didn't ask me whether I was satisfied or not. I told her to wait and check for my kid hair style. I told her to adjust because hair was not neat. After the dresser did what I said, she didn't ask me about the satisfaction. I said to wait and asked her to cut a bit shorter at the forehead hair. The dresser almost shouted and told me that my kid's head was moving and how she could cut. I told her that I could hold my kid head and cut the hair.
The ecoin service at Toa Payoh branch was too bad and I'd like to withdraw my deposit.
Pls advice me how I could withdraw my deposit.
For long-term sustainability of your business, ecoin management needs to focus on the services.

forceful unnecessary services
Just went to the eCoin outlet at toa payoh central,
For just a haircut, but after the haircut was done, was led to a room to do some scalp diagnosis which I did not even agree to, when sat down, the
Female staff already started applying some liquid solution on my head, while trying hard to sell me some crazy package to "clean my scalp", even after saying no constantly, still tried to push to me the plan.Afterwards I had to pay $99 for the treatment I did not even agree with.I would avoid ecoin if I need a haircut if unwanted services are pushed on me.
warning
There have been many terrible reviews about this China Based shop located around Singapore. One of which I've had made the worst mistake of my life, and thus losing more than half a thousand bucks.
I'd like to share my experience with everyone so that there will hopefully be no more "victims". If you're one of those who trust people easily and can't say no to others, please pay special attention.
This store used the usual tactics. Opening promotions: haircut SGD$1 for members $3 for non members. Just the thing I was in need of a haircut. So I entered the store and was served within 6minutes of waiting by this woman who I thought was so strange that can only speak Chinese. (I am terrible with that language so I explained that I'm bad with Chinese. But she continued speaking in that language.)
We began with a simple haircut, rather long, about 12 minutes or so. Occasionally she would pop a few questions like are you working, have you applied for member, etc, and of course...in Chinese.
After the hair cut was where it began. She requested for my help. "Handsome come and help me awhile" direct translation from her Chinese statement.
Now here's the thing. She had asked me about my life abit and if I like to help people. I suspected nothing while she found out I'm a student volunteer. So naturally I'm accustomed to helping people when they needed. So when I thought she needed help, I stood up immediately and went with her.
She pop me up in another seat and started to use some strange machine to scan/zoom into my scalp. There was a monitor to show how the roots of my hair, etc. Here she explain how my roots are damaged etc etc (I understood nothing since it was explained in Chinese...)
Without asking for my consent she started applying some cream onto my scalp, explaining that this treatment from the usual 259 bucks is now at a discounted price of $59.
Now here's the tricky part. She had already applied the cream which is the start of the treatment. So I'm like. Hello, you apply the cream already then you tell me the price. Here she's like don't worry don't worry, I'll remove the cream now.
Then she started applying more cream to my hair, saying it will be over shortly, and placed this huge machine over my head. It was nice. She even offered Chinese tea. At this point in time I'm already bewildered, but under their spell since I can't go out of their shop with my hair full of cream.
After 10minutes of being under that machine. She took me to wash my hair. It wasn't that bad. We came out after a while she started using a hairdryer to blow dry my hair.
At this time is where the scam begins.
She'll lead you to the cashier for payment. But she'll say in order for the scalp to be clean and the treatment to be successful, you'll need to undergo this treatment 10 more times!
This is a lie. I'm afraid I'm just too stupid to reject the offer. I mean, they offered an additional 2 treatments, making it 12 more of such treatments in total, and made the treatment that I just had free.in addition, they said that anyone can just go into the saloon for such a treatment if they knew my date of birth and my phone number.
Not a bad offer right? Plus my friends can use it too.
Here. Somehow I'm already taking out my card to make payment of 600 bucks. It was only after payment was made, then I started to realize a few things.
1) You don't need 10 treatments for it to be successful. 1 is enough. More than necessary. Your scalp is already cleaned. Just make sure it stays that way.
2) Do you know how easy it is to obtain someone's DOB and Phone number these days? Once they know you're a member... Hey sir can you fill out this survey form for me. Boom. 10 treatments gone.
3) This is the thing that aroused my suspicions. Minutes after leaving the store, my hair started to itch and my head hurts like mad. (I won't say unbearable.)
Apparently they don't allow refunds.
I'm writing this online as a lesson for myself. Many people will be complaining saying my complain is biased, racist etc. But trust me, I don't mean it. I'm saying that it could happen to anyone. I only found out it was based in China via online reviews and searches.
Here's some takeaways.
1) If you're new to something. Research first. The first thing I see when I search Ecoin on Google is: avoid this shop. I'm not kidding.
2) Don't go around helping people who don't look like they need help. "Need to rush off somewhere" is a good tactic to use.
3) Be careful of what you reveal to others. It can be used against you.
Cheerios. Stay safe, be smart.
Call [protected] to Ecoin sg feedback. I ever called in to complain and the lady handled it well. Not sure if they will keep it up with this feedback. U can try.
very misleading. saw the shop outside said haircut-$10 and after the haircut they told me if I wanted to be a member, afterwards calculating total it would be $50, I then denied and said that I didn't want it anymore and they said that I can't change it anymore, so I was abit frustrated and upset feeling it was actually a scam since I was the last person before closing
Dont step into this store. U will never feel welcome at amk. A crazy staff.. shop not a lot of ppl.. also ask me to stand at a corner to wait.. she told me to see a doc to say im crazy when she thinks i took pic of her.. i took pix of the shop to show boss.. but i think her boss wont care.. hiding in the midst of staff.. bad attitude.. dont bother go
They are a bunch of cheats!
I wanted dye my hair and try out the ecoins at Yishun. I asked the sales woman standing outside the salon how much it would cost and she asked me if I were a member to which I clearly said, "No".
Then she said the cost to dye hair for my hair length was $39/-... I decided to go ahead with it but did not have enough time as I had to rush off elsewhere at that moment (thank goodness for that!) therefore, I told her I'd return later.
Later that same day, I went back to that salon and I checked with the counter staff again of the price to dye my hair and guess what she said? "$69/-"
I wasn't that surprised because I had a bad feeling of this place. I asked her, "someone from your salon told me $39/- earlier, how is it that you are telling me it's $69/- now?"
To which she replied, "Oh, that's member price!"
Err... Excuse me? Didn't I clearly mention to the earlier sales woman that am NOT a member?! Which part of that was so hard to comprehend?
This is clearly a sales tactic. If I had not checked again, I would have sat there for them to dye my hair and would have charged me $69 and I would have been shocked to death and in that dilemma, they will sell their membership and pretend to make an "offer" of $10 or so if I do sign up their package.
Wow! If this isn't daily light robbery, I don't know what is!
Just stay away from this cheating place. I hope someone takes an action to close this place down asap!

Attention to all:
I have been a client of Ecoin. mainly at Yishun and Bugis for a few years now.
Last year, I bought a package of 12 treatments (12x$49), topping up the colour of my hair with scalp treatment. I was given detailed information before I bought the package. I am not charged for any haircut with this package.
My hair tends to be dry and the rate of growth had slowed down drastically over the past years.
The strands especially at the back of my head and the fringe actually had broken off and split ends were very common.
Since the scalp treatment, my hair has shown a visible improvement.
The rate of growth of my hair has increased and my hair definitely has more volume and shine and is softer now.
My hairstylist is very careful and skilled in her work. I have not faced any attempt to withhold information or use any form of trickery.
I am not saying that the negative experiences of those who had made online complaints are lying.
I am sure there are negative experiences.
I can only vouch for myself because the condition of my hair has certainly improved. I believe it is only right to give credit when credit is due.
This is the reason why I am writing this today to share my positive experiences at Ecoin.
There will be inefficient and unprofessional and insincere hairstylists but since I have been blessed to encounter a few hairstylists from Ecoin, mainly@Bugis and @Yishun, I wish to inform the public that Ecoin charges are still manageable for me and the staff are courteous and would pay attention to my requests/reminders.
Check the prices of scalp treatments and other kinds of hair treatment, you will know that what Ecoin charges are reasonable.
This year (June 2020), I bought the shampoo for Hair loss. I also bought the other 3 types; for oily scalp, flaky scalp and sensitive scalp.
The Hair Loss shampoo certainly showed positive effects.
I gave some bottles of it to some people. Two months later, one of them asked me to get more for her as she wanted to give to her friends.
I called a few branches to inquire about the Hair Loss shampoo as the one in my hometown did not have the stock.
This is how much demand there is for this shampoo because of its positive effect.
By the way, I have not been paid or asked by any staff of Ecoin to write the above. If this was so, why didn't Ecoin get me to write earlier when these complaints surfaced?
I am a client, believe it or not.
Just because so far, there have not been positive reviews about the services and personnel of Ecoin does not mean no clients have been satisfied.
I am
A Satisfied Ecoin client
Complaints against the e-coin hair salon in Yishun again and again! Those female hair so-called hair stylist target my husband who is too soft & gullible! Tried to sweet talk him into buying a hair treatment when he is already in his mid 60s, how can he be having so much hair on his balding scalp?! SHOULD STOP THOSE WOMEN HAIRSTYLISTS FROM TARGETING THOSE IN THEIR 60s, especially MEN!
I have same situation with you ..I top up 580 ..just wanted to use the top up asap..May I know how to pm you..we can go down to the shop together..
hair cut - poor service and cheating consumers' money
I would like to make a complain on this salon - ecoin.sg which located at Toa Payoh Central. I believe there are lots of complain cases on this salon.
They used the tactic of $5 hair cut for non-member to attract walk-in customer and persuading you to join their member. if you are rejecting to join, they'll charge you for $10 hair cut instead of $5 for NON-MEMBER as stated at the shop.
I used to do my hair cut there with $5 for the past few months. Til now, they are so terrible to train the new hairstylist to try different tactics in order to sell their membership instead of hair cut.
If you are not willing to join, they will express their unhappiness and charge you any price as they feel to charge.
I strongly feel that this CHINA SALON is humiliating Singaporeans with such a bad and rude service, irresponsible to customers.
This shop should be closed and investigated by Consumers Association. It is just indirectly show that this shop is running their business beyond the government control.
Had my haircut today. My hair was below shoulder level. .Requested the female stylist to cut layer for me. Whoah cut my hair in les than 5 mins, without cutting it by sections. My hair layer ended up so ugly and uneven. Horrible service. Furthermore , can argue with the customer. Agreed with me not pay such horrible service, but you can put back my hair? Of course not? In US will you will get sued. Please go for training!
We had been using their service with the kids for a while with just basic cutting.
Upon review if the charging, hair wash was charged x 2 without our knowledge.
The fact is the mommy is always with the girls when cutting and there is no reason we don't know if washing is being done.
The manager from toa payoh said it is "impossible" for them to make a mistake.long story story, these Chinese ppl was hard to understand firstly and they are good at denying to the roof! They won't expose their management and always thats company policy. Spoke to hotline. Same thing. Only when I threatened to call police for fraud... Then they said they will reach management and call us back.
Jurong west salon - POOR Response and do not listen what customers telling, they cut hair as they like.
Even after customer waiting at salon also, they never respond. They go for smoking and make late.
Once you become member, they will not respond proper manner.
I first went there because I heard they employ yellow ribbon. It turned up to be just an advertisement to attract. Now all Chinese and everyone is so so so pushy for packages
I also had very very bad experience. Every time they try to suck your money in Bedok branch. I heard they are expecting $8000 sales to get good commission. Just pay for haircut is good. Others is a no no.
Yesterday I visited the branch at Toa Payoh.
The so call hair dresser said I have applied jell to my hair
And refuse to cut my hair.
I am a member for two years and this is the first time I heard of this.
What type of service we are getting ?
Waste of my time getting there.
Ecoin staff are mostly from China and Malaysia. I wonder the boss is it also from China like Joyce TCMedi Spa (Jia LE Beauty Salons PL-NSINGAPORE SG)which has many outlet in Singapore.
They will lured you with their promotion but ended up pestering you to join as member and sign for expensive package and before this package expired they will pester you again to sign for additional package. Singaporean must be beware of all this companies.
That is why they can keep on opening more outlet in Singapore. May I know any one has ever lodged a complaint against them and get a refund.
Many went to CASE
CASE is all bark, no bite. Totally toothless organisation that does nothing but send letters with no actual follow up of substance. I also went to case when they devalued member's existing topped up credit by increasing the haircut price for member's. Nothing came of it.
Is rebond inclue treatment sms [protected]
Believe me, I am usually very lenient when it comes to haircuts and I usually accept haircuts despite how badly some of them turn out. But this place was nothing short of terrible.
It seemed decent at first. The barber proceeded to ask me what style of cut I want, and I gave a series of simple requirements – trim fringe, cut slope at the back, etc. None of which I believe are too complicated to comprehend.
Throughout the course of the haircut, the barber was very evidently distracted by many of things around her, constantly shouting at fellow colleagues, and even towards some customers who walked in without knowing that they were supposed to wait outside the shop first. Her lack of focus undeniably led to a very poor quality of work. Despite having told her specifically for a slope, she did the exact opposite, blissfully cutting away my hair until the end when I realised there was no slope (I am a school student and the school requirements need us to have a sloped back – this is not out of vanity or whatsoever). I hence asked her to cut a slope at the back, to which she hesitated and replied "这样剪会很难看" which roughly translates to 'cutting this way would be ugly', since she had already cut off a significant proportion of my hair at the back and a slope would look off-place. I just told her it was okay and to just proceed cutting.
At the end it turned out quite awful. There was barely any slope at the back but I grudgingly accepted it. The fringe and sides appeared to be in a very bowl-cut manner which felt rather undesirable, but I took it anyways as she did tell me it would be ugly.
Then came the cleaning after the haircut. All she did was wipe my neck once, then told me to pay. I literally left the shop with hair in my face and eyes. Asked for a tissue to wipe my face but she claimed they didn't have any in the shop.
Absolutely horrendous. Do not be lured in by the cheap prices. I'd much rather spend more on a decent haircut then this $5 of disappointment and poor service.
FYI – this was at the Jurong West St 51 (Block 504) branch.
Ecoin staff only wants to make money. I think they are getting a big portion of what we are paying. That's why they push and push. If you said I will think about it, they will said if you come back the next time, you wouldn't get this price any more. I'll just said then we talk about it again the next time. Normally, they like to give you free hair cut for to sell their product.
Besides, they are also very rude when you don't buy their product. Sometimes, I think the push the product over the limit. If you have good product, customer will Automatic come back . If Customer don't want you product, that's no point pushing. Customer have the right to say no to any product in the market.
I went to several e-coin branch and they are all the same. I really hope that e-coin management can do sometime on this, Else I will not top-up my credit any more upon my credit finished.
