My sophmore in high school purchased a Vooddo bat from DeMarini. He went up to bat and hit an out of the park home run. He told his dad before his next up to bat that his bat felt funny after that hit. We thought nothing of it till later that night when my husband examined it better. We sent it back in to DeMarini since they have a ONE YEAR WARRANTY on their product. It was returned to me two weeks later with a letter that stated that the damage done to the bat was not caused from normal game play. Seriously! We play almost $400.00 dollars for these bats so we must be playing tennis or golf with it other than baseball. My son has NEVER used his bat for other than practice, games, lessons, and hitting in our cage that does not have a machine. My son is a honor student athlete and is taken by DeMarini that they would even think to say that he was lying about how the bat got damaged. We have two boys that have played club ball for many, many years now one is now high school and the other in college both playing ball. They value the gear in their bags. Gloves, Catchers Equipment, bats, battig gloves, ect... is expensive and to be called a liar and the company cannot tell US FOR SURE WHAT MADE THE DENTS BUT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A BASEBALL TO DENT A METAL BAT. Tell that to the colleges that dent afew bats a game. We now out to defend our son against this bologna. Please help us... Thanks The women to told us her engineers assured her that it could not have happened from a ball is silly.. Her name is Kim Seigal her number is [protected] Customer Service Manager

7/29/2009 Kim Seigal called from DeMarini and spoke with my husband. She still will not warranty the bat for she feels that the damage could not have been done by game play. My husband explained to her that the ding in the bat is what we are wanting the warranty to replace. After debating the issue with my husband for half and hour she said they would NOT COVER THE BAT UNDER THE BAT WARRANTY but she would send us a DEMO BAT! Why not just send us our bat replacement then! This makes no sense whatsoever. DeMarini cannot prove to us how the bat was damaged since they say it was not game play. We were at the game when it was damaged we heard the strange pop off the bat when he hit the ball out. He said his bat felt funny the next at bat. Besides calling us lairs why would we want do business with them again. We have a son in college playing baseball and this son playing high school ball and another son starting junior high. If this is how customer service issues are handled, and the customers are considered liars then we will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM DEMARINI OR WILSON.

Well Kim Seigal called my husband back after a week from my first e-mail. She argued with my husband for half and hour and told him that she would not warranty my sons bat but would send us a DEMO bat. We recieved the DEMO bat today and it a 2year old bat. NOT even the same bat we sent them. Why would a competitive baseball player want a two year old model of his bat that we sent in that nine months old and was an 09 Voodoo. We already have a 08 Voodoo why would we want another OLD BAT! If Kim Seigal would have told my husband what exactly she was sending us we could have saved her time and ours. This is getting stupid. Why would any ball player want to put a 08 bat into his bag when they have a 09 version and a 10 is currently out. It makes no sense if you play baseball. Ms. Seigal must not either understand when parents purchase these bats and for what reason they purchase them. We did not go to Kmart and buy a 20.00 bat we paid over 300.00 dollars for this bat. Her poor customer service skill have left my husband and boys fustrated and upset. DeMarini needs to revisit how they conduct consumer complaints. We were there when it happened along with many other parents and players. Please tell us where exactly they were in the stands.

I wish I would have read your reviews before I bought the third DeMarini bat. I will never purchase anything DeMarini or Wilson again. I also will let everyone I know about this company and how they handle complaints. At least they got back with you, no one even responds to me, this is my second time writing to them on the same issue.

Do not buy DeMarini bats, customer service is horrible. I purchased a bat and after two months of use, I noticed the rattle from the inside the walls. Hit balls were not coming of the bat the same. I returned my bat to DeMarini as it is well within warranty and the customer service is horrible and unfriendly. I posted my experience on the City's Softball Leauge Bulletin board and made sure everyone knows NOT to purchase a DeMarini bat. The same goes for tournaments.

I have just dealt with the same kind of problem myself! I live in Oregon not far from DeMarini, so I thought I would support a local company. Well I am now paying for it. My 13 year old daughter was so excited about her new bat and has taken awesome care of it. At a tournament last weekend she hit a ball in the wrong part of the bat and it took a chip out of the handle part where the ball hit. I sent it in beings we just bought the bat this winter. They told me that it could not have happened from hitting a ball and that we cut it with something small and sharp! I was floored! I am an honest person and I was very offended. I was there when my daughter hit the ball wrong and I saw the damage. Also, I don't think they even understand what it is like to have to go without a bat in the middle of tournament season! Nobody in their right mind would break their bat on purpose with tournaments going on every weekend! I am disgusted and will also tell everyone I know at every tournament I go to, that they should NOT buy DeMarini!

Kim Seigal is an Administrative Assistant! Not even a manager or supervisor. Any company that practices business this way tells you something about the company. The cost of these bats are ridiculous and there should be no question about replacing a dented one. I was told when my son dented his bat the Demarini does not honor their warranty, I did not believe them and sent it in and guess what, same thing "not normal game play" I was there I heard the noise and the umpire checked it and told him he could not play with the bat anymore. He plays travel ball on several teams and high school and needs to have his own bat. I have started a huge boycott in Northern California, when I go to tournaments I pass out literature and make sure people do not buy DeMarini. I have added all these stories to educate parents and players. Have also signed petitions to go to wood bats in high school, would love to see them go under!

We had a problem with DeMarini and it was not resolved easily. I feel for your son. Those bats cost a fortune and it is highly unlikley a teenager would damage his equipment on purpose. I always thought customer service was " The customer is always right!" I guess in these times companies would rather not stand behind there products in hopes you purchase a new item from them. The company oviously doesn't want to keep its customers happy. We never got our issue resolved either and I wish you luck.

There is no way to rule out game play. DeMarini should step out to the plate and replace this kids bat.
