This so called medical coverage or whatever it is is crap. They took our money and lied about everything said in my many conversations. We paid alot of money and went to the doctor today for the first time, I am 3 months pregnant with first child and to my surprise the doctor did not accept this crap.We were told a provider and network which they no longer have and nobody bothered to send a letter or call and let us know this information. Now as of today after waiting a month for coverage to start we have none, we cancelled after being fed a bunch of bull and we are highly upset. I think this so called company needs to be shut down immediatly before anyone else gets scammed.

I am also pregnant and was sought out by Consumer Alliance for insurance. A agent named Dorsey explained that I am guaranteed 60% of doctor visits, hospital, physician, and anesthesiologist; 50% of generic prescriptions. I cancelled the network that I had because I was given a better deal. I found out that the insurance was being misrepresented. The insurance company only pays $25 per doctor visit for only 5 visits a year. Why would I pay $100 a month to get $125/year? This company seeks out pregnant women in need of insurance and takes advantage of their situation. It is very disgusting.

I have insurance with Consumer Alliance for almost a year and am very happy. In all fairness, your post is very biased. When I enrolled, as I'm sure you did to, I went through a recorded verification which clearly stated what I was getting.

The plan is an indemnity plan and I can go to any doctor. The network only adds to my savings. In fact, when my own doctor was not in the network, the member services rep contacted him and arranged to add him to the network. How great is that?
I have saved a lot of money on prescriptions, treatment, when I was in the hospital a few months ago it paid a major portion of my hospital bill.

I'm sorry you didnt understand what you bought, but thats no reason to slam a decent company.

I have to agree with the first two ladies. I was also lied to about what this company had to offer. They definitely need to be shut down!!! My representative's name was Bo. I repeatedly said to him Insurance in like every other sentence I spoke. NEVER did he say that this was not an insurance company. I even called back to see when I would get my INSURANCE cards. When I got my cards it said "this is not an insurance card." And don't bother calling these people because you ALWAYS have to leave a message and have someone call you back. No one ever answers the phone. Unfortunately I'm out $200 but they will never get another penny from me. I cancelled and I am reporting them to the BBB. I was told that this company covers 95% of doctors. The closest doctor to me was 50 miles away. So, yeah they definitely need to be shut down!!

I agree with the pregnant women and kelly this insurance is worse than crap. I was told that this insurance pays 80% by a lady name tracy so I cancelled perfectly good insurance to try to save money but that did not happen it is cheaper to pay for it out of pocket and save the insurance payment.I was told that you got 2 free cleanings a year on the dental and we have not received no payments on these and it has been 5 months so we have called and they don't even have us in the computer and every time you call they tell you we got it fixed are we are working on it and we will call you back and guess what they have never called us back yet ever since we have been with them and I have 2 active boys in school and sports so I need insurance but I got this crap. Also they have yet to pay any money on any doctor bills since we have had them so you are just giving money away when you give this company money. SO THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!! AND IF ANYBODY LIKES THEM THEY ARE PROBALLY A EMPLOYEE OF THEM.

I am 5 months Pregnant and the same thing happend to me. Dorcy was my representative and told me that for 129.95 a month I would have an 80/20 plan, including labs and hospitial stay ect. I signed up for the plan in January the 3rd to be exact and that was when I paid the 229.95 for the initial start up. I was very consistant in asking "Is This an Insurance Plan?" and many times I was told that it was insurance and that it was not a discount plan. I went to the doctors last week and when the doctors office called they told them that this was a discount plan and that the only cover 25 dollars on the first 5 visits. I ended up paying my doctor 200.00 on my first visit. Even on the back of the card it says "Medical Coverage: This Program includes a limited insurance benefit with a $25 Doctors Office Visit." Even the card lies. On top of that they automatatically deducted the 129.95 out of my account yesterday. I never authorized this, I only authorized the 229.95 in Janurary. When I called and complained all they could tell me was to put it in writing. I am so upset with this company. Something needs to be done I feel bad for all of us who are pregnant and have to go through this bs. My doctor even told me that I should have them reported to the Insurance Commission, so that is exactley what I am going to do. My Mother In Law is a Paralegal at a Major Law Firm in Orlando and is going to help me. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO GO DOWN!

I agree with the other pregnant women. I am 7 months pregnant and got very sick, had to fill my prescriptions for my inhalers because I have very bad asthma. I got to the pharmacy and was told my insurance didn't cover my prescriptions and that it would cost me $112 to get it filled. On top of all of that I am unemployed and I am a student but they are taking $200 a month from me. How do they expect me to pay when I am unemployed,a full time student, and pregnant?

This is cr*p and I am sick of being ripped off. They need to be reported immediately.

This company is awful. I could probably hum the song they play when they put you on hold. It has a lot of violin. As for the company, it is a poser. Paying a monthly premium, you would think you would get more out of it than getting your bills right back a couple of months later. I owe my doctor's office about $500 because of this damn company. Not to mention the fact that the company required a letter of creditable coverage to start receiving coverage with them, but will not now give me a letter of creditable coverage in return now that I have left the company. This Insurance Plan, Discount Plan, Savings Plan has acted as a LAPSE IN COVERAGE for me, as if I have had NO coverage at all! Now I have pre-exiting conditions according to my new, actual insurance company. Super! Let's have that chasing me down for a while! Somebody with money ought to sue these ********! I have called for dental covereage and been given the run-around, just like the other lady mentioned above. They couldn't get me into their system. I called around ten times. Honestly. Finally, I had my current human resources rep. call in to them and talk to one of their people. She actually got somewhere, but consequently the procedure I had (root canal) required a waiting period anyway. If I had had my molar pulled and left a big hole in my mouth, they would have covered that. But they wouldn't have covered the implant for the hole for another whole year:) Ha Ha! So, once I was finally in their forsaken system, it was of no use anyway. I could go on, but it's unhealthy to focus on things that make you this angry.

I work for a company that sells discount plans (although not this particular company). I agree that if you are pregnant or have a pre-existing medical condition, this is probably not the best route to go, a discount plan will not help you much. All discount companies will accept people with pre-existing, however there is a one year waiting period for losses resulting from a pre-existing. You bad experiences are based on how the plan is presented to you obviously. If you get a young kid who doesnt know much about insurance, someone who is just eager for a $30 commission, then chances are you will get lied to and manipulated into purchasing a plan that isnt your best fit. I dont like screwing with peoples health, and I was a bartender in a casino before i started selling these plans. But I do have a conscience and believe it or not, I sacrifice my commisions to find a good plan for people that need help. Some of these discount-based plans have fully insured benefits as well, such as extra hospitalization benefits or surgery benefits. If you have a good rep, they should suggest a suitable drug card, not just settle for the basic one included in the plan. Not every plan is meant for everyone, but there are some good ones out there. These plans are not intended for someone who qualifies for or can afford traditional insurance, it is for someone who cannot get coverage from a regular carrier, such as Blue Cross or Aetna, or for someone who cannot afford a premium of $200 or more a month. RULES FOR A GOOD EXPERIENCE:
    1. Do not commit to a plan on the first call, ask for a call back, you will eliminate a fraud or pushy salesman just with that.
    2. Ask for detailed information to be sent to an email or fax. Frauds wont put much investment in you if you request info in writing.
    3. Ask if it is "Insurance", or if it is a "discount plan with insured benefits". It might even be smart to act as though you are okay with it being a "discount plan" because then your rep will think you are okay with it and be open, you can then hang up on them when you find out the truth if its not what you want.
    4. NOT ALL DISCOUNT PLANS ARE FRAUDS...please dont knock down those of us who are honest and really trying to help...

I haven't signed up for the insurance yet, nor do I think I will. I spoke to lady named carla and I had lots of q's becuase I am pregnant and looking for coverage and every insurance company I have talked to has denied me coverage because it's pre-exisiting, (so much for wanting to care for your unborn child) Goverment will pay for an abortion, but not to help pay the O.B/anyway. When the lady told me that she did not have a computer to e-mail me info. I knew it was crap. Honestly what major or even run of the mill company does not have a computer. Hell, even people on goverment assistants have computers. So for your saftey if it sounds to good to be true! IT is. Becareful and ask q's lots of q's

Do not put one cent into this fraudulent insurance plan. Got laid off from my job and was looking for healthcare coverage. My husband is an independent contractor so I have always covered his health insurance. I must have been desperate to find coverage. My husband and I are in perfectly good health but still felt we needed some kind of coverage for the "just in case" incident. I spoke to this guy named Jeorge. He tried to rush me through the process. Like a dope I accepted. I have always been covered through my employers so didn't know what it was like to try and purchase a plan on my own. So many disgusting predators out out! Do your homework! Any time I called customer service to get some information I felt like I was talking to someone with the IQ of a hamster,

Thank goodness neither my husband or I needed to use any of their health insurance coverage for anything. There is no clarity as to what they REALLY cover. The scammers got two months of payment out of me before I became suspicious due to the lack of knowledge of anyone I tried talking to there including Jeorge, the guy who signed me up. I was hung up on, re-routed...Even their online stuff is vague and suspicious. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!
