I worked hard and received paid tuition for this experience in 2002. It was a waste of time and I feel sorry for anyone who actually paid for this fraud education out of pocket. I attended July 2002’s night class. The institution (if that's what you want to classify them as) over promises and underdelivers. Before attending I was already doing journalism and broadcasting through CHS and the school was suppose to provide formal training to one student per year. I understand why CHS discontinued sending student. The teachers were nice and gave advice. They showed us the equipment and then gave the students projects to complete. Most had no clue how to use the equipment so most piggybacked off the ones who had prior experience. Job placement is only for the teachers pet. For the alumnus if /when you reenroll they will mysteriously lose your paperwork and pretend you never attended to avoid making good on their promise of retraining. Any alumnus make sure you keep receipts so if you have to go through litigation you'll have proof. They'll pretend it never happened.

I was very close to attending but before I did I made some last minute research and once I found some questions I asked the supervisor at the school and he responded by emailing me the same thing he emailed me two years ago about how "great" their school is and the BS from an automated email...I would not recommend this SCHOOL to ANYONE. They WILL go bankrupt again and I feel sorry for the poor students who think that 13, 000 for an 8 week course with no degree is actually worth it. PATHETIC! Please do not go all they want is the money and then they don't care about you. PERIOD.

So krluckett and LSUChadP just stumbled upon this site and happened to sign up within one day of each other, just to answer this question? Forgive my skepticism, but both of their responses came off more like a Connecticut school of broadcasting advertisement than a testimonial. While I have no dog in this hunt, be aware that CSB filed for bankruptcy about a year ago, and a great number of their students were left out in the cold. Although they did restructure and open up some facilities in certain markets, I for one would be very leery of doing business with the company like this. Not to mention, as someone who has been in broadcasting over 21 years now, I have found their students to be ill-prepared for the real broadcasting world. Their equipment is outdated, and their teaching methodology is antiquated. In other words, much of which you learn won't be applicable when it comes time to be hired. While I don't doubt that some graduates will be offered entry-level positions, there is no way in the world that 65% of their graduates are hired upon completion of their training, as their advertisement states. Do the math. If the Atlanta school had 60 graduates from their next session, they would want you to believe that 39 of those students were hired. I would venture to say there aren't 39 job openings in the Atlanta market to begin with at the current time, not to mention 39 entry-level positions. If a company is willing to lie about their success, why should they be trusted with anything else one of their sales people feeds you?

As a Grad of CSB in Atlanta, I can tell you this, If you are Not going to put in the work, don't waste your time. I also had the same concerns before I made the choice to attend. EVERYONE I spoke with said the same same, "YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO DO THE WORK." Since finishing classes at the end of 2010, I started an internship with the 4th Highest Rated Radio show in ATL. (#1 in Sports Talk), covered press conferences for The Braves, and The Falcons, Done Voice Over Work for several companies and this week started a new morning drive show with another grad on a local AM station. I spend A LOT of time working on my craft, and Thanks to CSB, I have the skills and the knowledge to pursue my DREAM CAREER...Good Luck to you, and if you do go to CSB, there are Grads and Students, as well as GREAT instructors who will be there to help you along the way

As a current student myself, I can tellyou without a doubt CSB Atlanta is where you need to enroll if you are seriously wanting to work in the field of broadcasting. I too searched for almost a year, attending and touring many different programs all around Georgia and the closest I could find was an undergraduate degree at Georgia State College. I already have my undergraduate degree so I was seeking something a little more fast paced and hands on and wanted to fully emerse myself into this business, the people, the connections, the equipment, etc. I know I made the right decision because I have consulted four different broadcasting professionals working in other markets (Chicago, Richmond, Dallas) and all of those people said, "Yeah, I have heard of CSB. They have been around forever. That school has a great reputation!" Sounds like you are doing your research online but I would encourage you to seek out people who are already working in your field of interest and ask them how they got started and second, what are their thoughts on CSB Atlanta. I have yet to hear a negative remark from those I have consulted. It is one of the best decisions I have made. Good luck!
