Bank of America - unjust bank overdraft fee's

So bank of amerika aprently randomly decided 3 days ago to change there overdraft policy, it use to be to get an overdraft the transaction had to be $10+ now its All transactions and the fee increased to 38.50. So because of this, 12 $0.10-$2 transactions that overdrafted my account by a total of about $9 is costing me $465.00. Like wtf? Are they aloud to do this? They never said anything about changing policy then all of a sudden BAM im out $465? Oh yea and when I asked the CS rep basically said, TO bad.

once this is cleaRED up, im taking my business elsewhere!

"You'll be waiting on tables for a long time." That has nothing to do with my review.

They have a method of overdraft protection, which I had. If a transaction was above $10 and I didint have the money it wouldent go through. But that was also removed with the policy change to the below $10, Which I find to be utter BS

Get overdraft protection removed from your account. Without overdraft protection, your purchase will be denied if you don't have enough actual money in your account.

Actual emergencies aside, overdraft "protection" is a scam.

No reason to be a jerk.. He asked for info on this not your personal advice. Stuff it.

OT You have to had signed a Agreement for the change whether it be digital or not. Quite sure you skimmed right past it. It sucks for sure. go INTO a branch and talk with a manager explaining your situation.

Most likely they will waive the fees, esp. if it is your first time.

I'm not sure what my bank (U.S. Bank) has for policies or has in the past in full. I know that the fee was $40 or so, but I'm not sure if small transactions are exempt or not. Now, they told everyone (well, they told me when I was there once and sent a letter) that the customers must opt in for such a fee. By default, if you go over, the card will be declined, so you must explicitly tell them that you understand the risks to be able to overdraft (and be fined).

I personally think that $40 is a bit steep, and that it should be more like you are fined twice the fee, up to $100 (fee, not overdraw), but that's just me.
