On march 4, 2016 between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm a friend and I entered the at&t store at 5635-1 san jose blvd #323 in jacksonville, fl. When we entered, the attendant was serving a couple, the only other customers in the store. He appropriately greeted us and said he would be with us in a few minutes. While he was securing information from the couple, he learned that the male was a student at the university of florida. He informed the student that he graduated from the university of florida. From that point, the discussion ceased to be focused on phone business. As a result, my friend and I were subjected to discussions about fraternal affiliations, demeanor in certain fraternal groups, football games, and his cleverness at being able to smuggle liquor illegally into football games while he was a student.
After listening to that irrelevant discourse for more than 30 minutes, we decided to leave without service. The attendant did not respond to our decision to leave and continued his conversation with the couple. I understand that it is important
To establish rapport with customers, but I found that experience to be not only inappropriate but also disrespectful to us.
