On Oct. 6/2022, I went into Citizen Time and Gold, 723 Johnson St. to get an appraisal for my son's 10 K gold necklace. I went there because my son had a receipt in his wallet that he had carried around 2018. My son died on Feb. 22/2022. The police brought his gold necklace, bracelet and diamond earring. The receipt was for the diamond that he had bought at Citizen. I laid Gary's (son) necklace on the counter. He said he would only do an appraisal if I wanted to sell it. I said 'Oh, I don't want to sell it'. All I have left of my son is his jewelry and his memories. He then said 'oh, the clasp is broken. I will fix it for you' and turned his back on me and went to the back of the shop. When he returned he had a longer, smaller link chain of a 3.75 European stamp versus 10 K chain. I didn't see that it wasn't Gary's chain, just put it in my knitting bag.
When I went back to the shop, my final words were 'This is not Gary's chain. I have a picture of me with Gary's chain on and a picture of me in the same clothes with his chain on. His is clearly longer.
