I bought a chi hairdryer that was not cheap and after a year and a half the heating element went out. I looked on line to see who to call for repair and noticed numerous complaints of the same thing happening. I called the customer service to see what could be done about my hair dry and was told nothing. I mentioned all the complaints about the same thing happening and was still told they would do nothing. This is ridiculous that this is not being corrected since it keeps happening to everyone after a year and a half. My suggestion is to buy a SALANO they will fix anything and there is not one particular problem with there product like Chi.

I have also had a similar issue with my CHI Hair Dryer (CHI NANO). Mine started to cut out and then sparks into my hair and on my arm. This was a week ago and I still have marks on my arm from the sparks. Unfortunately, I purchased this from T.J. MAXX and they won't return or exchange it since it's been passed their return policy date.

I couldn't believe it last night my hair dryer rarely useded but just over a year old stated shooting sparks and burnt my hair. There has got to be a recall on this dryer. Like I said I rarely use it and it was 200$ never will I buy a chi anything unless they replace it.

Same results 1 year later. :) My Chi went out just before the 1 year mark, so I got a brand new one. Now, here we are one year later and it's going out again. Sparks shooting out, air not very hot. Called Farouk. Sorry Charlie! I'm out of luck. I paid $140 for a hair dryer that "lasted" two years. Could've bought several cheap ones for that price. :( Not a happy camper

I had my Chi hair dryer for just over a year and last week the heating element went out. It started shooting sparks while I was using it, I've NEVER had a hair dryer do that before. Now it just blows cold air. Very disappointing because I thought that I was getting better quality for the price, but I've had hair dryers from walmart last longer. If you're thinking about buying a Chi, save your money and buy another brand.
