On 10/23/17 I lost my 12 year old male Doberman. This totally ripped my heart out. I began searching for a Doberman breeder when I located charismatic Doberman in mcalpin, Florida. I submitted an application and followed up the next day with a phone call. I spoke with sue. I explained my situation and she stated she had a liter due 1/17/18 with lady. The price was $1700.00 and this included ear cropping. I made a $300.00 deposit 11/17/17 to reserve a male puppy. 2 weeks, or so before lady was having the pups I received an email from sues husband. They stated they thought lady was going to have a small liter, maybe 4 pups. According to them her last liter was 14 pups. I was crushed as I just wanted a puppy. They offered to transfer my deposit to another liter. After emailing we agreed to wait and see about lady as sue said she could be wrong. On 1/17/18 I received an email stating lady had 2 pups both females. Again I was crushed. After several emails back and forth I requested to have my deposit refunded. The following morning sue called. She stated they were going to breed Greta that week however there were problems previously but they were trying another male. If it took pups would be here end of March or first of April. She also stated she had 2 other liters due about the same time and one of them she only had females available. According to her husband I was second in line for a male. I ultimately told them I'd wait for Greta. Several weeks later I texted sue asking about Greta. She said all was well. I asked her for a date she stated 4/1/18. On Tuesday 3/27/18 I texted sue asking about Greta and was the date still 4/1/18? No response. On Thursday 3/29/18 I emailed in the morning asking the same thing. Her husband responded that evening and said it was a "false pregnancy". I was livid. I emailed and told them to refund my $300.00 deposit ASAP. He responded and said there were no guarantees with Greta and he thought I was waiting for first available. I was told they were uncertain which is why I texted sue asking several weeks later and she said 4/1/18. It's 3 days before and until I asked twice they didn't contact me.
He tells me that they have 2 other females that will be coming into heat and I could wait for that. No, no way. Someone is lieing. Sue said they already have deposits for males on one of the dogs and he's telling me they aren't even in heat. This is outrageous to me.
I sent him an email on Friday, again telling him to refund my $300.00. All he says is when he does he will let me know. Obviously they don't have $300.00 or why wouldn't it be refunded immediately. If this is not refunded by Monday I will go to my bank and have them deal with it.
The fact that they can take peoples money for puppies when they don't even have a pregnant dog is unconscionable. Sue was aware of how upset I am and yet they play with peoples emotions, all for money.
I will get my Doberman puppy but not from this breeder. I thought they were caring, compassionate people, obviously I'm wrong. Unlike them that evidently doesn't have $300.00 I do have the money to buy another puppy. They still show on the web site to make reservations for spring liters. They don't have a spring liter. Someone needs to stop them.

I never saw the 2 pups lady had in January. Was she even pregnant? Did she really only have 2 pups? One lie leads to another. I don’t trust these people!

Just to add to this with what I know about these breeders. I bought a male Doberman puppy from them in 2011. I went and picked out my boy from the litter. They put a collar on him so he could be identified as mine. He was only a few weeks old at the time. They began sending pictures as the pups grew and when it was close to the time to get my pup, they began sending me pictures of my pup but it wasn’t him. I went round and round about this and they gave me some story about how the pups chewed off the collars and that was what was causing the mix-up. Finally they sent me a pic of the correct puppy. It all seemed really weird and like they were lying to me but I couldn’t figure out why. I finally got my puppy but quickly realize as he grew a bit that he was sick with something. He was beautiful looking but sick. After many months of him having intermittent vomiting and diarrhea and not being able to grow or eat well, our vet finally found that he had chronic giardiasis. After struggling with this for years we were able to control it enough for him to grow and have a good life. My vet said he came to us with the giardiasis. It has been 8 years now and I just lost my precious boy on October 15th from Chronic Doberman hepatitis which is a genetic disease that is incurable. Theses people should NOT be breeding dobermans! My heart is broken after loosing my best friend and I feel so sad that he spent most of his life not well. DO NOT PURCHASE A PUPPY FROM THIS BREEDER!
