Booked this property (7320 Byron Avenue, Miami Beach, FL) through Booking.com. Arrived to find a strong chemical smell, stained bedding, mold on the bathroom window, corroded sink drain and door hinges. Had to relocate the next day at our own expense. The operator (Sunshine Land Development LLC) refused to refund the unused nights, despite having offered in writing to do so if the unit was rebooked — which the availability calendar suggests happened.
I also have documentation showing the host pressuring a different guest to leave only a top rating or no review at all, which fits a suspicious pattern of clustered, nearly identical positive reviews on this listing across multiple platforms. Independent reviews on Agoda and Kayak describe the same dirt and maintenance issues we experienced.
Filed complaints with Booking.com, the Dutch consumer authority (ACM), and the European Consumer Centre. Filing this here as well so it's searchable for anyone checking this property before booking.
Claimed loss: $897.72
