Throughout the whole process of going solar we have been well informed and taken care of. As homeowners we wanted a simple and easy process. Summit took care of us and have made going Solar so simple and painless.

Over sold me a system that I can take advantage. I understand that I can not put more than 10kw into the grid, but the way they set up the system (ie with one inverter to save them money), I can not produce more than 10kw. For example I have enough panels to collect 15kw, and I could be using 5kw, but the system only puts out 10kw no matter what. So instead of having a net production of 10kw I only get 5kw. So they sold me panels I can not use.

We had a very positive experience with Summit Energy. Although we had been approached in the past regarding solar panels, we were not ready to move forward on it until our meeting with Summit Energy. Their sales representative was informative, helpful and very professional. He kept in touch with us through the entire process. Installation was completed yesterday with no mess, no intrusion and surprisingly little noise. We would highly recommend this company.

David Smith of Summit Energy was great at communicating with me on the front end when we were figuring out whether we wanted to go with solar or not, then during the setup phase we were kept in the loop, and then again after the install, he was helpful with our understanding of the system! Overall, I am very pleased with how everything occurred, and I'm not easy to please! The crew that did the install was incredibly fast, respectable, and left the place better than they found it. Extremely ethical and professional and I couldn't believe how easy and simple they made the process. This was the only way I could afford to get a new roof and effectively I am only paying $5 more per month than my average utility bill to finance a new roof, solar panels, and to take some trees down that would obstruct the panels for an interest rate a little less than 1.5%. Bonus was also how nice all of the employees are from the roofers to the solar panel installers to the electrical workers. My neighbors went with a different company that had door to door salesman who did not hook up the electrical correctly and didn't tell them their solar panels wouldn't work because of a tree in their front yard. Summit was very transparent and helpful.

I would recommend using Summit Energy Group because they have an excellent honest salesman Greg who will explain it to you in terms you can understand so that it's clear going solar is not too good to be true. I have a fantastic rebate program that they are responsible for completing the application for you and I have a 7,000kwH system that is essentially paying the solar loan itself and eliminating my electric bill at the same time. They make it easy to understand that the Federal and State tax incentives really help make going solar a great idea. The team at Summit successfully completed the job on time and without any issue. They have professional people who are on time and responsive. They answer their phones and emails promptly. The materials they use are high end and they answer all questions well. Their watertight install method is backed by a very good warranty. Definitely go with them.

Ill start out by saying the panels still have not been turned on, so this review is about the installation process to date. The sales rep we talked to was really friendly and quick to answer questions and follow up - thats why we chose this company over several others we met with. However, from there communication with this company has been like pulling teeth. We were rushed into signing a contract at the end of august because they wanted to get started on the project. We initially were going to pay cash and they wanted a 500$ deposit for the site survey. We mailed a check but then the day after we heard from our bank and decided we would need to do a solar loan. I alerted them immediately but they still cashed our check. It took two months for them to refund that money. I emailed and called throughout the fall to get a status update on the installation and it was beyond difficult to get an answer on when they would install the panels. In December (3.5 months after contract) they finally installed everything. Great! Except now we had to wait for a whole list of other things that have to happen to get the panels creating energy. I have been passed between multiple representatives at the company who, while initially helpful, seem to just stop responding to emails asking for updates. I know that this process can take a while but the company has not done anything to keep me informed or let me know what the schedule is. We are now reaching six months after signing the contract and we still done have a finished product. Im really disappointed with summit energy.

I do not have any bills in my name. My life crashed 3 years ago and I am still rebuilding it. I have been on social assistance for the past 3 years. I would like to know how somebody in my horrible situation can possible break a contract with a company called summit energy and now am being billed $495 dollars. the enbridge bill is not and never has been in my name. I rent a room in the basement utilities included.
I called them on the phone about this and they claim that I signed this contract. I have no memory of any such thing. We get so many knocks on our door for soliciting it's impossible to remember them all. I asked them how I can be responsible for something not in my name. They told me that I said the bill holder was my spouse. Well she was my spouse 3 years ago. She was not and hadn't been for 2 years when I apparently signed this contract. We were not even ever married. Our names do not match in any way. If I did sign this contract is it possible for Summit Energy to come after me. It was not me who was cut off of the gas. The gas is even back on. That don't matter. They are trying to tell me that I still have to pay them $495. Can they really do this to me? The point is NEVER SIGN UP FOR SUMMIT ENERGY WHOEVER THEY ARE.
