1532 Dawson Branch Rd.

Summerville, SC 29483

On June 6, 2023, I was driving my 2013 Audi Q5 and began experiencing braking problems. When I applied my brakes as I was approaching a stop light. I noticed that when I pressed my brakes, the car would not stop as I was applying the brakes. I had to apply the brakes several times for it to stop. There were vibration and steering problems. I managed to drive the car in a nearby mall parking lot and called a tow truck. I also called my sister and she informed me to have my car towed to the Firestone on 1920 Old Trolley Rd., Summerville, SC. My sister and her husband take their auto there for their car care needs. My sister and me arrived to Firestone and I explained to the Service Advisor; Shawn what was happening as I was driving my car and applying the brakes and vibration I was experiencing. Shawn said he would have his technician check it out and get back to me. I received a call the following day; June 7, 2023 that my car was ready. My sister paid for the repair of $486.57. I drove my car home and then a few weeks later, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 I was driving over an over path and when I got to the bottom of the over path and was approaching a red light; luckily, I was not driving at a high speed or I could have hit someone in the back. I applied my brakes and experienced the same issue. I pulled over to a nearby parking lot to see if this was the exact same problem. I called my sister again and then I had my car towed to the same Firestone location that repaired the first time. I explained that I was experiencing the very same issue and that I smelled something burning. The Service Advisor Shawn said he would take a look and let me know. It took a couple of days for them to tell me that they could not figure out the problem. They called my brother in law and on Friday, June 30, 2023 and on Saturday, July 1, 2023, I went in and was informed by another Service Advisor that he called a specialist from another store and still could not figure out the problem. He said they test drove the car but could not determine the problem. This time I was not charged. I became worried that it was a more serious problem that they could not determine the issue. I was afraid to drive the car to the dealer fearing I would have an accident, so I had my car towed from Firestone to the Audi Dealership in Charleston, SC the same day. I paid $45.00 to tow to the dealer. I was informed by the Audi dealer on Monday, July 5, 2023 that the issue was my brakes. I could not believe that because Firestone specializes in tires and brakes. As you will see from the attached receipts, that the technician; 07 Cody wrote that my brakes was in good shape. Please see the attached. The Audi Dealer informed me that my front brake calipers were seizing and have overheated the brakes which require replacement of front brakes pads, rotors and calipers with brake fluid flush. When the dealer informed me that it was my brakes, I could not believe that Firestone could not determine the issue on my car, instead, they sent me back out on the road with the same exact problem which luckily, I did not have an accident. Monday, July 10, 2023, I ended up paying for calipers seizing, front brake pads and rotors, and brake fluid flush. I was charged $3,016.23 for brake repair that your technician could not determine. (Receipt attached) Instead, I was sent back on the road when your technicians failed to discover my front brakes were badly damaged and cost me more money than I had anticipated on paying. How did the technician determine to replace a CV Axle shaft when it was clearly my brakes?

Thanks

Brenda Hunt
