Booking.com and X Cover Travel Insurance review: Can't reach them in person and can't understand the site

Hurricane Ian destroyed Sanibel Island, a trip we were going to go on Nov 11th thru Nov 21st for our 35th anniversary. So, I started canceling my plans, The car and Hotel refunded my money with no problem but Airfare through Booking.com over 3000-dollar worth is a big run around, I had bought travel insurance through xcom on the flights but can't file for a refund anywhere, sites are too confusing for me. I've tried many times to reach someone-anyone to help me.
