This FA, Ben Mohr, in San Ramon, CA 94583, did not honor a contract that he entered into with us. I just wanted anyone who is considering doing business with him to know this before walking in his door. I figured I would save you time and potentially your money in letting you know what kind of advisor this is. No ethics. No respect for the integrity of a legally binding agreement. I would not do business with Ben Mohr.

RESOVLED:

Per the instructions of complaint.com, my issue with pro2pro has been resolved. After speaking to Dr. Len he has assured me that I will be taken care of as promised and will continue to get the best referral for me so I can grow my practice. This is an example of the power of communications and talking to the person who at least understands what I as an advisor building his practice goes through. All I was seeking was that someone just listen to my concerns and I give credit to Dr. Len in stepping up and follow what I was not getting. So if anyone is still looking at his services make sure that you get the opportunity to speak to him about what you are seeking. If anyone is interested in details of how it was resolved it me know and I will give you a lessen in communications.

First of all I have to be neutral to all of this since I have just begun the process of requesting a refund of meetings not completed in the contract period. Second, this Heather person at pro2pro is a corporate cheerleader and should leave her opinion out of the whole process since she has no experience from the outside of what it is like to be a financial advisor trying to make it work. Unless she has direct experience being in my shoes she to will not understand the frustration in working with this firm.
When I first signed up, I told them that the payments will be difficult but I will find a way to get the payments made and I was late but it was due to the varied income as you build your business but they pro2pro I did not think understood that part, they were more interested in getting the money due them. I was to get 12 referrals with six months and I got 6, half of the contract. Now they tell me that it is because my payments were late is maybe the reason I did not get what was due but that I say is a bunch bull. A second reason was due to tax season is why I have not gotten the referral meeting requested, ok I get that but for no reason should have my account been on hold because the referral meeting were behind schedule. Now since all my payment have been made, they have my money and technically have only earned half of what I paid them. My contract ended with them owing me 6 referrals but the issue is this, I have not had a meeting for 60 days or more and did not hear from them until I requested a refund of unfilled referral meeting of which they set a meeting with a tax preparer which is unacceptable because I ask specifically for CPA 's and Estate Planning Attorneys. This occurred the day after I sent my refund request.
What to do next, well I am not sure yet however, as I told them I do not have any confidence that they will from this point on do a favorable job in securing these meeting with COIs. I did not hear from the for 60 days and now they want to make things right to get the contract completed but a consumer knows that if you have no confidence in the service or product I should expect a refund for the unused portions and leave the rest to experience. I no longer trust them and they should just except that because they never had my best interest in looking for COI's referrals, they seen only interested in making money for themselves.

In 2009, Mr. Mohr was an advisor in our service and posted comments about our service and his experience that are impossible to be true.
With regard to the negative post ABOUT HIM that he refers to in THIS post, we have absolutely no idea why he is bringing our company into this conversation or these posts - it has NOTHING to do with us.
We have nothing to do with this negative post about him. We have no idea what he is referring to. It is completely absurd that he would mention our company’s name in reference to a negative post someone made about him/his practice.

Mr. Mohr is accurate about one thing - We provide STRATEGIC, "eat-for-life" marketing solutions for Financial professionals...as well as doctors. In fact, we have hundreds of success stories from clients in our service.

I'm adding to this in hopes that others will see more about Pro2Pro and steer clear of them. P2P contacted me, a Financial Advisor, asking if I'd be interested in working with them to set appointments with CPAs, Attorneys, and accountants. Sure, who wouldn't in my line of work? Fortunately, or unfortunately, I've been burned by scammers like this before, so I took it real slow and did a lot of research first. They really emphasize that they provide an exclusive territory, so you need to sign up quickly. Yea, right. Well, after getting a phone call from one of their VPs (a recruiter), they started really pressuring me to sign up quickly because, miraculously, another FA was now interested in the same territory. I'm surrounded by corn fields for pete's sake; there was no other FA interested in this territory! For a ludicrous fee, P2P said they'd GUARANTEE 4 appointments per month and that I should realistically be able to garner at least 20 new working relationships with COIs in my area. Well, as a fee-based RIA, I ran the numbers, and to simply break even meant having to bring in approximately $2M every 6 months. That's about 14 new clients every 6 months given average balances in this rural farming community. Worse yet, with only 132 CPAs, attorneys of all types, and accountants listed in the phone book (many of which are listed multiple times), I felt it was highly unlikely that P2P could guarantee 48 unique appointments within 12 months, and even if they could, I doubted that I would garner 20 productive relationships that could provide access to enough clients to cover the cost of the program. Biggest thing I hate about these marketing/networking deals...they might work great in major metro areas, but I'm sick and tired of these guys wanting to "SELL" their "PROGRAM" for ridiculous sums of money when they really are not designed to work in rural, breadbasket regions of the country! If you live in a major metro area and want to give it a try, go for it. The Law of Large Numbers might work in your favor, but if you're in a rural area, these type programs are just a waste of hard-earned money! I thanked them for their time, but told them I was going to pass on P2P.

As suspected, the complaint was not from a client. We contacted Ben Mohr, Financial Planner in San Ramon, Ca, he provided us with the following statement.

The company I hired was called ________, the owner’s name is _______. Two years ago I hired his company to help set up appointments between me and CPA’s in the Bay Area. It was understood that his company would set up a minimum of 4 appointments each month and that it would be with CPA’s who dealt directly with retired or pre-retirees and were interested in joining forces with a retirement planner. After a few appointments it became clear that most of these appointments were set up under false pretenses, many of the people were tax preparers not CPAs and many worked directly with businesses not individuals, and most had no idea why I had shown up, they actually thought I was a potential client looking for tax advice!

When I complained to ________ I was told that I had to pay up or they would sue for three times the amount that was owed, and they also had access to my bank account. My only recourse was to close down my bank account. Another client of this same company from San Diego had filed a complaint on [redacted] and _________ blamed me for the complaint, so to get even they filed false claims against me on several sites trying to ruin my reputation. I never took legal action because they are a corporation owned by another corporation and are based in Pennsylvania. Several lawyers told me it would costs thousands to sue and because I was from another state and suing a corporation I pretty much would never see a dime so I just moved on with life. You did not go into detail. Was this a financial agreement or a business agreement for work to be completed?
