Arrow Financial Scam

I had an HSBC credit card in default and Arrow Financial Services was trying to collect the debt from me. I never paid them so they sent my account to Redline Recovery. Redline sent me a settlement amount that I paid in full back in Oct. 2010. I thought everything was good to go. I just recently (Jan.2011) tried to get financed for a home and got declined due to bad credit. I didn't understand why. Come to find out, Arrow Financial Services has a delinquent account reported on my credit report and you guessed it, it is the account I had paid in full through Redline. I then gathered all my proof of payment and immediately called Redline. They told me that Arrow had sold them my account and that they reported to Arrow that I paid it in full. Redline informed me that what Arrow Financial does with that information, they have no control over. I have spent the last week calling Arrow repeatedly and leaving numerous messages regarding this issue. They have not returned my calls and I cannot get through to them to save my life! I don't really know what to do. After researching the company I have read many complaints that are similar to my own but I really have no idea on how to go about resolving this. I cannot believe that this company is still in business, especially after reading about so many lawsuits and complaints. How can a company mistreat people in such away and still have their doors open for business? I am at a loss on what to do. Any suggestions?

Arrow Financial Scam , beware

From late 2004 thur late 2009, I was stationed overseas (US ARMY). Upon return, I discovered not only identity theft, but also all my old credit cards had a high debt assighned to them. One debt Held by PentaGroup came from Arrow Finance, stated I owed nearly $3, 000. let's see overseas for 5 straight years (never even came back to US for a visit). So I asked them to send documents of charges/purchases made. They had no documents so, I made a settlement and they agreed to romove the negative information from my credit report. I sent the money and they removed the report. Great right? Wrong! now Arrow Financial has place the remaining balance of settled amount on my credit report. I have called written and nothing from them. They did not even notify my of the debt. Just secretly place it there. When I call they tell me that its a mistake and it will be removed.

I am sick of these creedy vultures. I will file a complaint with the state attorneys general, but since the law have changed I should sue them. Yes thats it Sue Sue Sue...

Arrow Financial A Debt

I was the victim of identy theft and a credit card was opened in my name in the ammount of $300.00 and almost $200.00 were fees to start the card. ie: Start up fee $75.00, initial set up fee $95.00, processing fee $75.00 this left a little over $100.00 of available credit on that card and it was used to play on-line games all without my knowledge, ..the card was issued by First Premier Bank and I called them to explain and refused to pay the $300.00. They sold that debt to a collection agency that jacked up the ammount owed to $545.00 and attempted to collect from me, ..naturally I laughed and refused to pay it, ..they then sold that debt to Arrow Financial who jacked up the ammount owed to $814.00 and began harassing me to pay. I refused to pay or settle...it's been almost 7 yrs now and I finally got my credit back to where I could buy a Home and we close in 4 days but guess what? Yup the lender funding my loan is requiring I pay Arrow Financial before I get my loan. I am soooo pissed I could spit, ..how can I trust them to issue me a letter that the debt has been satisfied?

Arrow Financial Scam charges

Arrow Financial filed suit for a company that closed down years ago. This company was for a water softener treatment that never worked. After years of payments to the original creditor, Arrow took over and had charged more than what was owed and this was no an interest charge. In frustration all payments stopped and they sued for their amount they claimed owed. Well we found an attorney to help us out. Arrow Financial could not prove the debt. They only had a old computer sheet with an amount on it and several dates but no original contract or ledger of payments. We had our proof of payments and a copy of our original contract. Well it took a while cuz Arrow got and attorney to sue us first but the attorney on our side got a judgment against them fo $60, 000.00 for illegal collection practices. Look at the Fresno Superior Court web site and just type in Arrow Financial. What a beautiful site to see them for what they are! Best part is you can get the name of the attorney off that Docket case as well. It is public record.

Arrow Financial RIP OFFS

I received a letter in the mail from Arrow Financial stating "I owed a balance of $442.00 relating to my Bank Of America credit card." I made a settlement with a Bank Of America in 2008 for $750.00 on a balance of $1000.00 credit card. So, I knew this letter was very inaccurate. I checked my credit report and Arrow Financial was on my credit report. I called the number on the letter. I said " I'm sorry but there has to be a mistake, because I've paid this account off." She replied in a disrespectful tone, "We didn't make a mistake. We are not taking this off your credit, because you owe a balance of $442.00." And...Then..She hung up on my face. I called back twice and she hung up on my face. I never disrespected her. This company are full of bolognes! Very unprofessional!

I received a call from this same number but they called themselves CCS Financial Services. They were very rude to me on the phone. They wanted to set up arrangements for me to pay off a credit card debt. I explained to them that I had talked to my current creditor several times and explained to them that I had a lot of medical bills that I was trying to pay off right now. I told them that I had made arrangements to try to pay off this debt when my medical bills had been take care of. They offered to put me on their hardship payoff for 12 months. The payment would be 37.00. I said that this was fine and I could do that. Then they wanted to set up scheduled checks by mail. I told them that I was not comfortable with having the money taken out of my bank account without me arranging it through my bank. They said that this was the only way that they would except payments. I told them that I could set up automatic bill pay through my bank and have the payments sent to their address each month. They refused to give me their address. This is when I really started to get suspicious. As long as they were getting their money what was the big deal. I insisted that this was the only way that I would make the payments because I didn't like money being taken out of my account by other companies. The man then started talking very loudly and rudely to me. He then hung up on me. Another thing that was suspicious is that he knew that I was getting my paycheck each month directly deposited into my checking account although my place of employment and my bank told me that they had not provided them with this information because of it being confidential information. One other thing: They called my mother and was rude to her on her phone demanding that she get in touch with me and have me call them. I am really upset that these people can be so rude and not understanding when we are trying our hardest to pay off these debts. I don't even know if this company was legit. They way that they taked to me and the questions they asked were not very professional.

Arrow Is committing fraud buy adding more money to the original balance which was $2200 when they bought the account from my credit card. I refuse to pay this.

Know arrow Is reporting I owe $3, 000 to my credit files they are trying to take advantage of me. This violates the fair dept credit reporting act. I still have there first collection letter.

They are messing with my life & my credit report. Arrow Is the second worst violators next to nco financial .of the fair dept credit reporting act. I have saved all letters from them which Is all lies If this goes to court one day.

Arrow is not getting anymore of my money only what I borrowed from the credit card company. I am not paying the extra $1, 000 they have added to the original balance.

I have been fighting with Arrow for 7 years now for a credit card that was opened fraudently in my name through First Premier Bank for $300.00. I refused to pay First Premier Bank and they put me into collections...the collection agency that bought my debt then jacked it up from $300.00 to $545.00 and of course I refused to pay that too, ..they then sold that debt to Arrow Financial who in turn jacked up the ammount owed to $814.00 and sent me a bill. Of course I refused to pay them too and it's been almost 7 years now. I finally gor my credit scores back up to where I could buy a Home and guess what? Yup, ..The lender is requiring I pay off Arrow to get my loan, ..I'm so pissed off I could scream since the original debt was fraud in the first place, ...I want my house so I guess Im gonna have to pay the SOB's they really abuse the system I think and should be stopped! There should be a law against collection agencies jacking up the ammount a person owes so much. Well theres nothing I can do about this as we;re scheduled to close Escrow in four days and I have to have some letter saying I'm payed up. This is soooo not fair. Can anyone help me? Arrow Financial Scam and cheating

I hadn't heard from these idiots in a long time. I received a letter from them about 2 weeks ago. Same crap, new day. I sent a certified letter requesting validation. I'm sure I will get back some type of cut & paste document or a print screen. I will then send a certified letter demanding they produce the original card-holders agreement which they will not be able to. I will then have my attorney demand that all of my information be removed from their files and my credit report.

If these clowns try to collect from you, dispute everything. They can't sue you while the account is in dispute. Simply keep disputing everything they send until the statute of limitations runs out. Notice I call it the 'account'. Never refer to it as a debt, call it the 'alleged account'. This really pisses them off.

This so called company is horrible. Unfortunately I am trying to deal with this pathetic company so I can pay off a small loan. Yet they never respond, neither through mail or phone to verify the amount owed. I call the toll free number and their is only a recorded message saying they will call you back promptly, LIE. I haven't spoken to anyone there in 5 months. So I have asked to please mail a statement for 2 years! And never have they once sent me a statement in the mail so I know how much longer I have to put up this S**t. They have lied to me on the phone, when they answered it 5+ months ago, and through their "service."

The representatives that dealt with my account have constantly changed, which I wasn't aware of so I could contact the person with their precious extension number. my guess because they either have people who don't want to work and/or no one wants to work for corrupted people.

So I am going to give The Better Business Bureau a call. With all these complaints hopefully we can get rid of these type of "businesses".

Arrow Financial collection agency broke laws

Government Actions

Per a January 25, 2007 press release, Illinois Attorney General's Lisa Madigan's has filed a lawsuit against Arrow Financial Services for allegations that debt collectors used unfair tactics and deceptive practices to collect money from consumers.

Madigan's lawsuit charges Arrow with multiple violations of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. The suit specifically alleges that Arrow attempts to collect on time-barred debts over ten years old, attempts to collect on debts that have been discharged in bankruptcy or that have been settled, engages in abusive practices in an attempt to collect, such as using profanity, attempts to obtain payment without proof of debt, refuses or fails to provide proof of debt, illegally contacts consumers' family members and workplace, and withdraws money without authorization from consumers' bank accounts.

Madigan's lawsuit asks the court to prohibit Arrow from engaging in deceptive debt collection activities and further violating Illinois' consumer protection laws. The lawsuit seeks a civil penalty of $50, 000 and additional penalties of $50, 000 for each violation found to have been committed with intent to defraud. Finally, Madigan's lawsuit asks the court to order Arrow to pay restitution to consumers and to pay all costs for prosecution and investigation of this case.

The Minnesota Department of Commerce announced November 28, 2005 that this company has paid a $125, 000 civil penalty and will design and implement a compliance program within 60 days. The Department of Commerce investigation alleged that Arrow and/or its collectors engaged in more than fifteen violations including:

- Withdrawing money electronically from a debtors checking account without authorization
- Continuing to contact debtors at their places of employment after receiving notification to stop.
- Disclosing a debtor's information to a third party.
- Failing to establish procedures when screening collector applicants as required by law.
- Failing to respond to the department's request for information.

I understand debt collectors have a job to do and probably deal with a lot of craziness. However it does not give them the right to have a continuous attitude or belittle someone in anyway. I called to settle an account with them; as soon as they answered the phone I was immediately given an attitude, hung up on multiple times, the first time being because the word "negative" is now known as profanity and the other times I dont even know why I was hung up on; I also was continuosly belittled and then was told I was the "little girl or child". Then when I requested a supervisor I was denied this request and was told that a supervisor was not going to help me settle the account and that I was only going to be transferred to a collection agent. Who runs business like this>?

Arrow took over a credit account from Cortrust at that time My balance was 189.75. The date was May 5th 2008, I was to contact a certain lady at Arrow, which I did at that time the settlement was 2 payments of 52.19 and the debt would be settled and a letter of settlement would be added to My files and the credit reports.

I sent the two payments by Walmart money orders one was cashed on 7/25/08 other 08/08/08 and both were for slightly higher than the agreed amount.

Funny thing is or actually the unprofessional conduct by Arrow is actually the opposite of what credit companies asked the government make average ppl do and that is live up to thier agreements and obligations, here it is a yr later and still they show as a debt still owed, and whats worse is now they have given the account to another agency and they inform me Arrow is willing to settle, the thing is this once happened before, so do I pay or do I take a other course and try to make a company live up to thier obligation, at this point unsure but my STRONG suggestion to any other person that has to deal with Arrow get a lawyer to do it, cause they are an untrustworthy company

Arrow Financial rip off

For several years I have enjoyed excellent credit scores; and, a regular review of my credit reports has assured me that I have fortunately dodged the bullet of the unscrupulous identity thieves. Then, out of no where, I get a greetings letter from Arrow Financial Services letting me know that they are generously offering me latitude to resolve my Past Due Balance formerly held by MELLON/PNC BANK.

However gracious and kind their offer to me may have been written, the offer lacks one important element, a validated debt I am responsible for. I have never done business with, or had an account with Mellon and/or PNC Bank.

Albeit their letter offers the minimum required to remind me of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. What is important, however, and what I am really hoping to share with others is a suggestion of steps to ensure Arrow Financial Services, LLC, or any other debt leads purchaser, that you are fully aware of your rights under the FDCPA and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. To that end, here are some of the points my responsive letter included:

1) Immediately draft a letter disputing the debt and be sure to include a demand that the collection agency clearly state the full amount of the debt, the date the debt was incurred, the date of last activity on the account that has the debt, the name of the original creditor, a copy of any judgment if there is one regarding the debt and finally proof that the agency is lawfully authorized to collect in your state of residence.
2) Remind the collection agency that they have an obligation to report the dispute to the original debtor as well as the credit reporting agencies.
3) Let the collection agency know that you are sending your dispute letter by certified mail and standard mail because you want to ensure you are protecting yourself and your rights from predatory debt collection and errant credit reporting activities
4) Let the collection agency know that you will be keeping documented records of any contact attempts whether written or by telephone and will use those records to protect and defend yourself as well as to use the documentation, if necessary, to file complaints with your state's AG office, the FTC and your regional and the national BBB.
5) Finally, remind the collection agency that Statutes of Limitations would prevent litigation in many instances of indebtedness where the date of last activity exceeds, (in most states) a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 10 years. (While not necessarily alleging this against Arrow, there are some unscrupulous agencies who will buy debt leads that are beyond the SOL and just try to get what they can through threatening tactics.)

In the instance of my circumstances, frankly, I believe Arrow's skip tracing efforts were not successful and so the letter I received was no more than a hit-and-miss of all persons sharing the same first name, middle initial and last name as I. To that end, I think it very important that the letter I drafted acknowledged that along with reminding Arrow of my rights and the lengths I am going to protect my rights.

Collection letter out of no where? Its not right and it seems like the company should be more responsible about flinging allegations of indebtedness.

Had a previous credit card with HSBC. Account went delinquent due to economic and financial hardship. Arrow Financial has taken the account(s). Sent an offer, I paid the settlement offer and they are still claiming that I owe this debt. Numberous entries on my credit report with several different accounts. Constantly calling my home, work place and friends. Very rude and unprofessional.

Well, I did settle a debt with arrow, which I guess they had purchased from one of my credit card companies. Problem, since I settled for less than I actually owed, I owe taxes on the forgiven debt. They never told me the forgiven amount, nor did they send me a 1099 form to call it to my attention that I might owe taxes on it. But 3 years later guess who does have one of those 1099's and they want the money with penalty and interest. I am furious that I did not receive that form nor was advised of the possibility of owing taxes. IRS says talk to arrow and find out why they did not send the form. You all will be pleased to know that they have obviously been caught doing something wrong. Found a number on the internet and their service simply states all credit reports made by arrow have been withdrawn and "have a nice day" click. While that may help some of you, the IRS really doesn't care.

I have been trying for a long time to settle account with Arrow Finances. I get now where, you call the number they tell you to do it in writing. My father's estate is being held up because of a judgement against ME. In which Arrow Finances Services turned over to a law office that garnished my wages for three years. I exceeded the payment of balance. Then un be know to me, Arrow Finances took the account back without notifying me and left the court cost remaining, to which they passed the account over more than 3 x to other people WHO NEVER CONTACTED me. Now they tell me it is back in ARROW FINANCES HANDS. TO WHICH the lawyer holding estate money from my family will not release any of it because I still have a judgement against me through Arrow Finances, that I can't even get to talk to someone to pay it. What am I to do. This is totally ridiculous.

My mother-in-law received letter from Arrow Financial Services LLC addressed to her late husband. I instantly recognized it as a scam. Too strangly worded, not to mention he had never done business with a company called Premier Bankcard Inc., the entity Arrow was attempting to collect for.

I called Arrow Financial to tell them my father-in-law has been deceased for almost four years. They had sent him a "delinquint" bill of $1, 090.83 My exact words to the phone rep were; "consider this account closed and uncollectable". His reply: "okay".

What a joke! How can these predators continue to stay in business, let alone thrive?

I got 2 of these Arrow Financial Services 'Settlement Offer Letters'. So, I call up their phone number(***Number from the WEBSITE, NOT from the letter!). I give the Arrow Financial Services operator my bill id number, and...she says that collection letter was meant for another person with the same name! Just ignore the letter.

The Arrow operator says that I don't owe them money! But, the 2 letters sure make it sound like it is real...the letters say I owe money to some credit card I've never had or heard of. The operator tried to get my social security number, but NO WAY was I giving it to them. The Arrow Financial Services operator used my birthdate instead.

WATCH OUT!

Arrow Financial Scam and lies

I had some financial problems a few years ago and it is still haunting me. My latest problem is that I have all kinds of people calling my cell phone. I know this is not allowed. Arrow financial, NCO, Midland Funding, LVNV, Viking Debt Collection, Phoenix Debt Management, sooo many debt collectors. I've spoken to an attorney about it. They say these companies cannot use auto dealers to call cell phones. It violates the TCPA.

Check out their website, they helped me for no out of pocket expenses! http://www.southwestlitigation.com.

I had to do something to make all these annoying calls stop!

Arrow Financial Violation of my privacy

I have hired American Financial to combine my dept and offer a settlement to Arrow.

Arrow continues to call numerous times a day on my home phone. They leave a detailed message for any one in my home to hear. This is my debt only.

I believe this is a violation of my privacy.

They have been rude when I have spoken with them and have demanded that I pay in full. This is not possible and have explained this to them. They have yelled on the phone regarding this issue.

I refuse to pick up the phone any more, and am writing them letter re telephone harassment.

They first wanted me to give them a social security number with birth date. Not my debt, I'm rich I did not nor have I ever owed. They Call 20 times per day and when challenged on this they say, "No we didn't". Sorry but, I'm here! Phone rings... Caller Id says Illinois call. Same number... These people are bottom feeders. They buy old debts paid or not and try to collect a commission. They make me sick to my stomach with their 2 day collection course training attitude and their attempt at command authority.

I settled with Arrow back in February and was waiting for a paid off letter which I never received. In June I got a letter in the mail stating that I owed them $600.00 and without a settlement letter I had to pay up. So after contacting the company several times and each time someone new saying "it's in the mail" I called them every ten minutes until I got a letter faxed to me. I wasted my morning but they knew I was not going to give up until I received the letter. What a horrible company!

I have a debt from another company that was turned ovr to Arrow. They call my house constantly. I put a block on their calls. I send them $25.00 a month towards his bill. It's all they are getting. I do not have a job and I am legally separated. What I receive from alimony pays all my bills... I am paying and that's the way it is... They are horrible people. They keep harassing you over and over and i am not playing their game anymore. Enough of this harassment. I am so done dealing with this.

Arrow Financial Harassing calls

These idiots have been calling my cell for a month asking for someone I do not know and who is not me. Every time they call I tell them the above and they still call! This is harassment of the worst kind

The last time I got some idiot who thought he was clever but he was hard to hear because he has his head was stuffed so far up his A**. I am turning this over to Corporate Security since this is my work phone. What this company is doing is illegal, unethical and every other "un" you can think of - so of course none of the laws governing this [censored] are being enforced.
