I told the technician originally that I was having a problem with ticks. That I put frontline on my animals but wished help. I was told that there wasn't a lot to be done. When he finished, I asked him what he did about the ticks and was told that he sprayed a line on the fence? What? I am also still seeing ticks.
During this first visit, I let him know I was very concerned about chemicals in my home. He then put his little spray can on my kitchen table.
I called for a second treatment because I was still having ants in my kitchen. When the tech came out, I told him that they were coming from behind my stove. He checked and said that it was an easy fix. I told him again how concerned I was about chemicals in the home, and that my sister-in-law was pregnant and living with me and that I was worried about it. Also that my kids had problems when they were young from the pest control chemicals. He said my sister-in-law would be okay as long as she stayed out of the kitchen for a while. I stayed out of the kitchen for an hour also. When I went back into the kitchen, my counters were saturated. Called office, was closed, I got machine. I called tech (from my caller ID from when he called to say on his way) and he said that yes he did spray the counters. I threw away all the food that I had on the counters and washed everything else on the counters and the counters 4 times. It took me over an hour to clean it all up; I have to tell you that I was extremely angry. He also had put his little spray can on my dining room table this time.
I have recently met a pest control tech from another company, and after talking to him, learned that he cleans up all the spider webs under the eaves, takes down the wasp nests, neither done by their tech, and that there are LOTS of things that they can do for ticks.
I sent a cancellation letter detailing all of this in May. Certified mail, signiture requested. I received back sig card (Hetty/Kelly Baras?, Can't read it)and as no one called me I assumed that I was not wanted as a customer. In late June the same tech showed up at my house to perform service. I sent him on his way. I have since received a 120.00 cancellation notice. I called the office and spoke with Cynthia. She was the rudest person I have ever spoken to. She told me that I had never sent the letter, because she does not have it in her file. That regardless I have to pay cancellation fee. She argued and argued with me. I told her that I will pay, when I have it and I was told they will report me to a collections agency. I can't beleive that any company that had an unhappy cust due to their negligence would require this.
I am sending Cynthia a copy of my letter and sig card, but I have no hopes that they will reverse this 120.00 cost. That would be the right thing to do. I wish I could send them a bill for the time that I had to clean up their mess and the food I had to throw out. I have been in cust service for over 20 years, any time my employees failed to perform satisfactorly I took care of the customer and did not charge them. That is proper business ettiquette.
