Ancient Mariner Awnings and Signs Ltd. review: 2 residential awnings.

BUYER BEWARE. Ken came to our house to take measurements for 2 new awnings and gave us a quote in June 2021. I paid a 50% deposit. After a delay due to other work, we slightly changed the order in late Sept and paid an additional deposit. Ken said he would install the awnings the 3rd week of October. Then he said he'd forgotten to include motor drives, then he'd forgotten to confirm the hardware colour. When the installation date arrived in October, nothing happened. He gave no substantive response to repeated requests for information, but offered many excuses - the weather was too dangerous, he was on a job site and would get back to me, he needed to bring an installer out (Ken came to the house and took measurements 3 separate times), could be the change of order was not properly processed, could be the supplier was having problems with the required motors, the list was endless and at the end, I never found out what was the real reason, as that would change from week-to-week. On December 6 I finally said I had to have a firm installation date or a refund; he said "obviously he would get the job done" (!). I hear back on Dec. 30th that the awnings should have come in on Nov. 15th and that he would look into it, again. Then a couple of days later he said 'there's been a mixup' with our order and it will be another 60 days! Bottom line: Ken has received my money 7 months ago and I still don't have my 2 awnings. I've seen no evidence he actually ordered the awnings for us. DON'T GIVE HIM A CENT until he's finished the work.
