I go to meet Julia Weber for a Sphynx kitten after almost 3 months. She wanted 1600 and I paid a 500 deposit. I have had issues all along with getting updates and pictures, than 3 weeks ago when we were to meet she told me the vet had an emergency and could not spay her... So finally this last Friday she got spayed and we planned to meet Mothers Day. When we meet the cat is different than the one in the pictures, she than tells me my cat has 2 issues, that it has a hernia in the belly button and eye issues. This poor kitten looked dirty, its ears were very nasty. The eyes were glossed over with yellow tint, looking like she might be blind, really bad in one eye. Julia said she had no idea what happened while she was at the vet, she stated the cat has been there for two weeks and her eyes were fine when initially dropped off. After I confronted her about the cat she snatched her back from me telling me to pay the 1100 or she was leaving. I explained that she should give my deposit back, I even said I would possibly still take her but due to her not being in a healthy condition and needing a vet looked over she shouldnt be asking for another 1100. Julia than said that she didnt have paperwork but she had eye drops from the vet and to take it or leave it She got in her car and drove off. The vet office confirmed she brings multiple kittens with issues. This situation sounds like a kitten mill, using fake pictures to pull in buyers and than meeting them with a different animal in poor health. Julia Weber has multiple different Facebook pages and different phone numbers that she is using to scam people. I have pictures in emails in February with the cat I put a deposit on and she listed the same pictures in March on another Facebook page. I would like my deposit returned and her kitten mill looked into before she hurts more people or animals. I think her vet may be in on the kitten deals and receive money as well. This is the vet info

Hello everyone. I am Julia the breeder this Kira woman has mentioned in her complaint. I chose not to even entertain this crap the woman had posted a long time ago but now that I see some fake reviews I am going to get on here and call this lady out.

Kira had placed a deposit on a kitten back in [protected]? This woman would ask me for photos constantly and constant updates which is fine I have no problem giving updates but we do have lives outside of breeding and I do work. Taking photos of babies is very time consuming. Babies are very active and it is difficult to get good pictures. I have my schedule, work schedule, the childrens busy sports schedules, and I do not have time to take pictures constantly.

When Kira asked I did take photos for her. It may have taken a few days because of our busy schedule but she was sent photos of her baby.

Her kitten was scheduled to get spayed by our vet but the vet did have a family emergency arise and she did not get spayed at the time she was supposed to. that was completely out of our control.

When she was able to get her in she was spayed and later allowed to go to her new home.

All kittens from that litter were dropped off at the vet and everyone was spayed and neutered at the same time. While in the vets care Kira's girls eye had something happen to it. Likely the cornea was scratched due to the kittens roughhousing as all kittens were in the same kennel together at the vet. Again this was completely out of our control as this was an incident that occurred at the vet and not while in my care. She also did have a hernia which was supposed to have been repaired while her spay surgery was performed. Why on earth they did not repair it during surgery that day I do not know but when I asked the vet about it I was told that they would fix it for her free of charge. Kira was told this as I disclose everything.

I left all kittens at the vet after their surgeries and would take them straight to their new owners so there was no more added stress than needed.

I picked up her kitten from our vets office after hours on a Sunday and drove 3 hrs to to St. Louis to meet Kira. I did not see the kittens eye until I picked her up that Sunday from the vet. I was given medicine prescribed by the doctor by the afterhours vet on duty. I asked many questions to the vet about what had happened and if it would heal alright.

Her claims that her kitten was nasty and dirty with her eyes being yellowed over and appeared blind is a complete lie. The kittens eyes were not yellow, she was not blind, and that kitten was not dirty at all. We make sure all kittens are clean and bathed prior to going to their new owners. Their ears are never disgusting. This is an outright lie!

I brought the medicine the doctor had given me and as soon as I met up with Kira I immediately showed her the cat, the hernia, and told her about the eye and the medicine. I was extremely embarrassed!

I told Kira that she could take the kitten at that time, she can use the medicine prescribed by the doctor, and the doctor would repair the hernia for free; or I could give her a different kitten (one of the same color as we had 2 litters at that time and all were the same color). The other kitten offered was ready for its new home but would have to have its spay surgery done first.

Kira blew up screaming at me! She started screaming and yelling that her work had many lawyers and that she would use the company lawyer to sue me. She was going to get my website taken down and put me in jail. The woman started acting completely erratic. She demanded I discount the kitten or give her her money back. She repeatedly demanded I discount the kitten. I told her I was sorry that I was not going to discount the kitten as her eye will heal, everything would be paid for. I again offered her a different kitten and also offered to take the kitten back, get her treated and when healed would bring her back.

She screamed I want my cat now! I'm not waiting! (At this time Kira was still holding the cat, turned and started walking away with her) I grabbed the kitten back from her as she was going to run off with the kitten. I got in my car and rolled the window up as this woman was acting crazy. Through the window she again started screaming at me threatening to sue me. I told her we have a written contract, in our contract it states if anything should ever happen to the kitten we will offer a kitten of equal value when one comes available. Her kitten was not sick, it had not died. I offered her a kitten that we had immediately available pending its spay.

She again started screaming and then threatened to beat my #$@. I told her I'm done, I'm leaving, and I left. This woman was completely erratic and even after the incident she spoke with the vets office, they told her the exact same that I told her. She then started cursing at them and threatening to sue them. They hung up on her and wouldn't take her calls any further.

Her statement of me telling her "take it or leave it' is a complete lie. I would never force anything upon anyone. I certainly would never tell anyone take it or leave it. She was offered another kitten in replace of hers and she declined. I have never scammed her, nor have I ever scammed anyone else. That is a complete lie. This woman was extremely angry and retaliated to destroy our reputation.

I have been breeding sphynx for over 12 years and have never ever had anything like this occur. I have always had a good reputation until this woman posted all this junk on the internet.

The kitten Kira was supposed to get was placed with a man by the name of Ken Reed. She was perfectly healthy when placed with him. Her eye had healed and hernia fixed. Ken hcm scans her yearly and has always come back with a perfect scan. He sends me updates and tells me how much he loves her and updates me on her scans. Ken used to come to the hcm clinics I run with Dr. Cecilia Marshall the cardiologist in St. Louis Missouri but has since relocated to another part of the state.

In all my time of breeding I have never ever met someone like Kira.

Kira claimed I didn't bring paperwork for the kitten with me but that is not true. Kittens come with a copy of their contract, shot records, she that day had paperwork from the vet with her due to the eye and hernia.

Kira claimed in her complaint that the vet confirmed that I bring multiple kittens in with issues. this is an outright lie. We have the Hippa privacy law and that applies to veterinary practices also. They will never disclose any information on someone's medical history to anyone other than the owner of the animals. It is a violation of the law unless the actual owner consents. This was another lie from Kira.

I am in no way a kitten mill. At that time I had 3 females and 1 male, with one of those females being a spayed family pet.

I do not ever send people fake photos and never have I ever shown up with a different kitten than the ones the families have reserved. I would never ever scam anyone, I have done video calls and sent pictures with the peoples name and the date written on a piece of paper for them so they know I am not a scammer. I do have two Facebook pages. I have one for family and friends, the other for the cats. So yes I do post pictures of the babies on both as I love my babies and show them off.

What's even more awful is that she included my vets information here and accused them of "being in on kitten deals and receiving money from it". I have worked with our vet for over 10 years. She is very nice and yes she does make money off of veterinary services that have been performed on the animals but to sit there an accuse her of being in on dealing kittens is ludicrous!

This woman was horrible person to deal with and has done everything she could to slander my reputation, She is the reason breeders have contracts in place :/

I will post this now after all these years of not even entertaining this crap. If one more false review gets posted I will be the one taking someone to court for defamation of character and slander.

There are two other comments under this review Kira has posted. One by the name of Ford, and one by the name of "Cactus Bob"

I have never sold to a kitten or cat to anyone by the name of Cactus Bob. My kittens sold almost always have been sold to females, and if a man has ever bought one of my cats I will for sure remember it because it doesn't happen often. That is a fake review that has been posted. We have a written contract and in our contract states that kittens are spayed a neutered prior to going to their new homes. It also states this on our website. There have been very few cases in which we have allowed a kitten or cat to go to their new homes without having that surgery done because the vet could not do it at the time. In the contract it would state that they would be required to spay the kitten or cat within a specific time frame. Their signature is required and the contract is enforced or we filed suit which we have never had to do. I would never ever meet up with someone during a snowstorm. The would be extremely poor judgement and irresponsible as it would not only endanger the cats life but also me and my children.

LRFord: i would assume this is a review by the name of a woman named Lindsay whom I sold 2 cats to. Her first cat she told me ended up being diagnosed with hcm. I have never seen a diagnoses confirming this but it would not surprise me. The mother of her cat was named Flash. Flash came from a veterinarian in Michigan by the name of Thomas Bankstall. Before purchasing flash I did ask Dr Bankstall if she was hcm scanned and was told yes. Many many breeders had problems with Dr. Bankstalls cats and there are many awful rumors about him. Unfortunately hcm is very bad in the sphynx breed and no breeder is immune from it. Every sphynx pedigree will have hcm somewhere back in the lines adn the only tool we have to do our best to prevent it is echocardiograms which we perform but they only diagnose hcm if the cats measurements are showing up at that time of the scan. unfortunately hcm can pop up at any time. It can happen at a year or it can happen at 10 years old. Unfortunately sometimes a cat for breeding will scan clear for many years, produce many healthy kittens then later in life be diagnosed with hcm. It happens alot and it is not the fault of the breeder unless they are knowingly breeding that cat with Hcm. It will and has happened to all breeders. That breeding cat should be spayed/neutered and retired from the program. It does not mean they are a bad breeder unless they are breedin hcm cats on purpose. I never had any bad scans from Flash but that does not mean she cant throw hcm positive kittens.

Lindsay's claims that we had the kitten spayed at 12 weeks of age is true as we do early spay and neuter as that is what an ethical and responsible breeder does. All reputable breeders spay and neuter kittens before sending them to their new homes. yes kittens at that age do not weigh very much. We have been spaying and neutering kittens at 12 weeks for long time and so has many other breeders.

As for the heart murmur claim; all kittens are examined by our vets prior to going to their new homes. If there were to be a murmur present the doctor would not have performed surgery on her and would have disclosed the murmur heard. When Lindsay stated this I called our vet and asked them if they had heard a murmur or if anything was recorded about it. The vet stated there was no murmur. Our vets information was provided to her vet so they could confirm the records. At one point Lindsay stated that hcm could be seen on a radiograph of the lungs in circular patterns. This is nothing I have ever heard of. Hcm is a heart issue and only is a cat was in congestive heart failure there may be fluid in the lungs. I told Lindsay she could bring the kitten back and I would refund her. She stated she was not going to bring the kitten back.

I am very sorry her older cat turned up hcm positive but unfortunately like I stated previously. No breeder is immune to hcm and it will happen sometime or another during their time of breeding. It is not the fault of the breed as it does not always show up at an early age and even with preventative scanning. That does not make them a bad breeder.

I have done my best over the years to provide happy healthy kittens for people. I love my cats and our babies and would never purposely produce unhealthy babies. I have never ever scammed anyone and have many many happy kitten families.

I got a one year old cat from her; it turned out to be a runt. $1100 and we met at a gas station in a snowstorm! Turns out that she imported the cat from Russia as a breeder, found out she was a runt that could only have one kitten per year, and sold her to me. At the station in the storm she handed her off to me, and said, "Oh, I forgot to have her spayed; here's $100 back." I got her home and she started howling all night, so I got her spayed. Many health problems over the years, but she is a real sweetie!

I have purchased 2 Sphynx from Julia. Used to be called jamilla Sphynx cattery.. I love my girls. But I agree, something isn’t right.
I got a kitten last December (2018) & the contract I signed States that “All kittens/cats purchased as pets must be spayed/neutered at 5lbs of weight or 6 months of age whichever comes first” YEAH well she had my cat spayed at 12 weeks of age & she was 2.5 pounds when I got her! I got her 2 days after her surgery & per the vet everything went well. WELL the day after I got her home I took to my vet and was discovered that she had a heart murmur! When I told Julia about it she denied that she knew and that her vet didn’t hear it... long story short. I have 2 unhealthy Sphynx cats from this woman. SHE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. BAD BREEDING.
