This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I have been an Elite customer of AC for some 21 years. This year I have been working hard to qualify for Super Elite status which requires me to amass 95,000 Qualifying miles and $20,000 qualifying dollars.

To reach my qualification numbers I recently took a multi city 3 flight trip, out of which only 2 flights were credited to my account. This left me with qualifying miles of 98,000 plus and just $69 qualifying dollars short of the $20,000 needed.

I waited the required 8 days before submitting a missing flight request and the system keeps responding by stating, that the flight has already been credited, which it clearly has not. This always happens if you change a flight time, which I did for the missing flight as their systems are appalling and full of bugs.

I have made numerous calls to the help desk, had to wait in excess of 1.5 hours to speak to a supervisor (and I have 75k status) only to be told they cannot resolve my issue and credit me with the obvious missing point and dollars. My total wait time so far is now over 5.5 hours. How can this be the case?

Numerous help desk staff including the supervisors agree that I am owed the points and dollars but are powerless to fix my simple issue and clearly what is owed to me.

I was told by a supervisor to write to Air Canada's Credit Dept copying him and that he would escalate the issue. I am still left with no response, no elevated status and to my detriment. This has now cost me more money when recently buying preferred seats, when my status would have given them to me free of charge.

I was also told by a supervisor tonight that the Credit Dept is currently working on submissions from mid Sept, what a joke of a service AC is trying to flog to its unassuming customer base, those loyal customers, me included are hanging in there by a thread.

Air Canada are great at driving its customers to qualify for the higher status with promises of preferred service & treatment.

The reality is the preferred service flogged is smoke and mirrors as it is virtually impossible to get any staff member to do anything you need them to do. They are not empowered to take care of even the simplest requests as my story does attest to. Buyer beware!

Desired outcome: Apply my qualifying dollars immediately
