I purchased a 1999 Porsche Boxster on BringATrailer.com from AIC Auto Sales and their representative, John Whitmer. Everyone was fine until my wired funds were received. Then all communication stopped. I contacted them about insurance and other matters. No response. I then get a phone call from the delivery service stating that they will be delivering the vehicle at 10:00 on the same night. I had not been contacted about the kind of delivery I wanted (covered or uncovered) or even when I could accept receipt. To top it all off, the delivery service wanted the delivery fee. Which I had already paid AIC! So I refused delivery. The car has been been trailered from Pennsylvania to South Carolina (I am in VIrginia) and now the driver is telling me it will be delivered around 3:00 am. Again, how am I supposed to inspect a vehicle at 10:00 pm or 3:00 am? And again, zero helpful correspondence from the dealer (who hired these guys). And to top it all off, I am supposed to take delivery (at 3:00 am) with no title. John Whitmer did not include the title with the vehicle. Criminal. There is either something super shady going on or just really lousy customer service. In either case, avoid this dealership (online and face to face) like the plague. The dealer uses the handle "BattyBug" on BringATrailer.com.

This was almost 4 years ago. Maybe the dealership has improved their attention to detail and customer service? But I was not about the accept delivery after dark, when I could not inspect the vehicle. And especially accepting the delivery without the title? AND with the driver of the truck expecting to be paid? I made an informed decision based on personal and financial safety. And to clarify, without my signing the title, I had not purchased the vehicle, so I was given a full refund. You say too silly. I say wise move.
Too Silly...Who would buy a car from an online auction, pay for it, sign all the documents, then refuse delivery of a car they already bought? Especially from a very reputable dealer with such a long standing history of selling fine vintage Porsche's?
