My name is Ronald Wadhams and I am resident in this home.
This home takes my full monthly SASSA old age grant.
Recently President Ramaphosa announced that we would be getting R250.00 for six months as from end May 2020.
This is NOT a part of our monthly grant.
The manager of the home has informed us that we would not be getting this money as it will be used to "make our lives better and to pay for accommadation"?
I have been in this home for almost two years and nothing has changed or very very little.
Will they, the home, be allowed to do this or can SASSA or Minister Ms Lindiwe Zulu be informed and to stop them?
The manager keeps refering to the contract we all signed to move in here but nowhere is there a clause stating that should anything unforeseen happen, the covid-19 pendemic is a good example, and SASSA gave us the grant for a further six months, they had the right to take this from us.
This same letter has been sent to SASSA head office Pretoria and the Western Cape and hopefully they will respond asap.
