DISREPUTABLE OWNER, we had two sons staying in a college rental home. When the security deposit accounting was provided with partial reimbursements, there was no accounting at all for the $400 we had paid on behalf of one son (the other son received only a partial reimbursement). In fact, all told - the roommates noticed there was more than one security deposit unaccounted for; seemingly the owner does not keep their books accurately nor do they account (upon move-out) for 100% of deposits received on behalf of all tenants! We had to call over & over for days with nobody returning our call. At last, upon threat of filing a complaint with Wisconsin Attorney General's office, the "owner" finally called us but REFUSED to identify herself by name on a phone call, said her name is "OWNER that's who" also "ABODE PROPERTIES, that's my name." Profoundly rude, would not listen, not one shred of civility nor politeness. She REFUSES to put a letter in writing to our son to explain why his security deposit was not returned at the time the others were returned, nor why it was unaccounted for at that time. She also refused to send the security deposit in the mail; instead, is basically mandating that WE send HER an SASE (using our resources/postages/envelopes/time) to pay something back that she was ILLEGALY trying to cover-up& keep. We will still be filing a complaint with AG for: illegal &/or fraudulent business practices (i.e., attempt to cover up funds, refusal to provide a written accounting of funds received & then funds denied) / unethical business practices (i.e., failure to identify one's self & operate in good standing) / poor business practices (i.e., not returning calls in a timely fashion, not identifying oneself). At this point we are not even certain she won't pull another fast-one & send us only part of the $400 we are owed. A search of Wisconsin Dep't. of Financial Institutions shows Abode Properties owned by TERENCE & KELLI STRUNK of Eau Claire, WI.
Desired outcome: WE WANT OUR $400 IN FULL.
