I don't know who they are but they call a couple times a day. If i let it go to the answering machine they hang up, if I answer no one is there. How do I get them to quit.

800 Service is a virtual switchboard which other companies use to mask their real numbers. "Customer Service" or Account Reps dial into 800 Service and enter their Operator Code then the number they wish to call. In other words, a business somewhere (usually a collections agency) is trying to reach your number but the Operator isn't realizing the call connected. Since there are several steps involved in getting the call through, it is common that the CSR doesn't realize the call connected... or it doesn't connect all the way through to begin with.

June 26, 2010 I got a call from 800 service and again no one was there. I called the # back and got an answer. I told who I was speaking with if this happens just one more time I will be contacting the city atty office. Iwas removed from the list promptly with all the sorry about thats. What they are doing is against the law and they are aware of that. They are also aware that most people think they are in their legal rights doing this. Call your city atty office and ask what to do about this. Also make a police report and let your phone co. know you are receiving crank phone calls. The tap they provide will give you proof of the existing calls. Pass this around. Lets pay them back for their childish behaviour. Phil C.
