After completing half of on-line class, my daughter Hin Yee received an automatic email from the Young Drivers on July 27, 2022 stating that she was approved to book in-car lessons. On August 6th, 2022, Hin Yee phoned Young Drivers for in-car lessons. According to the call centre, driving instructor, Conard was unable to offer Hin Yee lesson until October 2022 due to the shortage of driving instructors in Markham. Hin Yee then proceeded to book the 3 in-car lessons that were offered to her on October 11, 18, and 25, 2022. Here, she waited for at least two months for her first in-car lesson (from Early August to mid-October 2022).

On Oct 25, 2022, Hin Yee more in-car lessons, but Conrad was not able to offer lessons even in December 2022, for he had to prioritize lessons for the overwhelming number of students he has since 2020 and those who already had their road test booked. On the same day, Conrad also asked Hin Yee to send her schedule so that he could arrange a lesson for her in a week’s time. On November 2, 2022, Hin Yee texted Conrad to request a lesson only to hear that he was not able to provide lessons unless there was a cancellation. Now, since her last lesson in late October, Hin Yee has to wait till January 2022 for her upcoming in-car lessons. Only after sending my letter of concern did Hin yee receive a message from Conrad last night at 9:45 pm offering a class at 7:00 pm. tonight.
