I applied for a loan with welcome loans and had to pay a 'set up' fee of £59.95 which i was assured was 'fully refundable'. Once i received the paperwork for my loan, they advised me i needed a garuntor to co-sign the loan. I had already advised them that i didn't have anyone to do this beforehand but they advised me that i wouldn't need one. After realising i did in fact need a garuntor i contacted welcome loans directly who advised me that i would need to write in to request a refund. I have wrote in 3 times in total and called them on numerous occasions. Its six months later and i still haven't received my refund.

i think a tv company or national news paper should do a report advising people to google the loan company they are considering using .. lets make poeple look for complaints against these sharks, , if i had just typed in welcome finance, loans go go, premium personal finance .. complaints, i would not have made the mistakes lots of people are making .. people need to be advised through a stronger media than the internet ..

i would phone trading standards they can give you the correct word use and what to quote from the act as you have not been given the goods as promised. easy to say but dont ever ever trust a company that asks for upfront fees they are scams. you can also visit the citizens advice and get them to send a letter and also look at any paperwork they sent you if they are members of the fsa for example you can report them. you can also advise the omusbman and any dealings that they have with the company will involve costs so the company will settle rather than incur costs, i would also advise you to contact your bank as it appears one of the payments has been taken without your permission which is fraud. i would also write to your mp and to the mp of wherever they are based you can just phone up the house of commons and give the area and they will tell you who to write to and finally put the company on every moan and complaint site on the web.these companies need to be stopped i dont know how their employees can sleep at night good luck i really hope you get your cash.
