Windows leak air on windy days from day one, so we have to add a space heater in the living room. The former 50 year old single pane windows worked better. Today (Christmas morning) two years after installation, it's windy and rainy and there's water running in all the windows on the windward side of the house. Drywall and hardwood floors are going to be ruined. Previous calls asking for help were a joke. They added a piece of open cell foam about 1" x 2" to the joint between upper and lower sash. No help, plus they fell out within one week. What a joke these windows are, they lead between the sash and frame and between upper and lower sashes. The sashes by themselves are great, but the true measure is the whole window system including frame and interaction between the two. I plan to measure air leakage and sue the company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I've had my windows for almost two months now and like you I feel I should have saved $9, 100 and kept my old windows. I'm not having the same problem as you but I am having a problem with the lack of energy efficiency. They come out to your home and tell you that you can save at least 30% on your heating bill and when I received my first bill it showed absolutely no change at all. I also had condensation with my new windows and they said that it was my heating system not their windows. I have the wood look windows which is contact paper that looks like wood and that is also coming apart already. They sent someone out regarding the latter complaints but when it came to the efficiency issue I've called their office and all they can tell me is "I don't know what to tell you." I also have asked to speak with a manager or an owner but of course no response.
