Hi, i was scammed by a company in gran canaria, called voyager travel, their approach is issuing scratch cards saying they are on behalf of the canarian tourist board, they got me by telling me a load of lies about my presently owned time share, they told me that i was indebted to my time share for life and could never ever get out of my contract with them, that it was an illegal sale, that my ground fees would go up and up and that even if i handed it back i would still have to pay this and that when i die it would be handed down to my kids and that they had offices in the uk who would put a warrant out on my property, this terrified me and as a result of this ONLY by what this salesman informed us we agreed to relinquish our time share to him, voyager travel, (turns out they were also a reclaim company as well) at a cost of almost 1000 euros up front and payments over the next year totalling nearly 5000 euros, for this he said they would take the problem of my timeshare away (believe me by the time he had finished talking i was relieved to be rid of it) and we would become members of their holiday club, called lifestyle holidays and gave us 4 "free" holidays anywhere in the world, we fell for it, at home i felt uncomfortable with it i contacted my timeshare company told them what we had been told needless to say it was all lies what he had informed us, i decided to resaerch them on the web, i was horrified at what i found, it was all lies, on finding this out i cancelled my bank cards right away before they could take anymore money but ive lost the 1000 euros deposit i paid and signed over my timeshare to them, they have recently been raided by the police because there are hundreds of complaints about them by either talking people into relinquishing their timeshares, or becoming a member of this club, it really is shoking that they can get away with this, i am not easy to pull the wool over my eyes but they appear so professional and imformed of all the legalities of time share, so confident in what they are doing, they totally lied to me and according to that information totally and blatantly missold me a contract, its pure theft, i am trying everything to get my money back, to no avail, even the fact that there are hundreds of us out there that they have scammed and the law appears to know about them, they are still continuing as before, so be aware of the hotel puerto atlantico in arguinuigan gran canaria thats where they work from and the tourist board in gran canaria definately do not promote them, anyone ever get involved with them and get their money back i would love to know. take care!

Timeshares are one of the top sellers in the travel and hospitality industry. Thousands are available and millions of people "own" them. But that doesn't mean timeshares are a good idea. However, timeshares are generally marketed and sold to people who really can't afford them. So if you think you can afford it, you can't. Even if you really think you can, your money is better off in a cookie jar. The average cost of a timeshare in the U.S. is $14, 500. If you put that money in a mutual fund averaging 12% over 10 years, you would have almost $48, 000. Pretty good. In 20 years, you would have over $178, 000. Even better, in 40 years, you would have over $1.7 million! That's a lot of free money! Hope you like the vacation house! Throwing money at a timeshare is not an investment and will not generate money for you. An investment implies that you can eventually sell it and make money. With timeshares, you're just pre-paying your hotel bill for the next 20 years whether or not you use it. I recommend you to read this article on how to give away a timeshare:

I hope this helps!
