I just purchased a phone plan with a physical sim card. The company asked for me to choose between an esim or a physical sim. I chose the physical sim since I purchased a new phone number with the plan. I do not have a sim. I cannot access internet without the sim. Volta charged me right away didn't ask for the shipping address and after charging me sent me to another page which said simply activate your sim and gave me the order number of 257535. There is no phone number, email or text to reach them at. I found a page where they claim to give you access 3 different ways, none of which actually work or link to those access points. I emailed them by replying to their thank you email for joining VOLTA. I have logged into my account which I just created in order to make the purchase and there is nothing there indicating the sim purchase or contact information or email the company. Nothing at all. They have already begun charging me and didn't deliver my purchase. This is outrageous and unscrupulous business practices.

Desired outcome: Want a refund and apology.

I purchased a sim card from Volta and tried to get my current carrier switched over to Volta. This went on for over two months back and forth. They admitted they were having problems. They kept saying they would help and then toward the end they said it was not their responsibility to switch me over. I was charged a total of four months and never got service. These are criminals and should be shut down.

Agreed. This company is nothing but a scam. They offer reasonably prompt replies to questions before you sign up and before you buy a phone. As soon as we bought the phone and had trouble getting it set up (it's still just an expensive paperweight), we have had nothing but headaches trying to get anyone to help resolve the problems. No one answers questions in the support chat or emails. There is no phone number to speak to an actual person. Buyer beware and avoid the costly mistake we made. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON VOLTAWIRELESS.

Thank you to all who have already posted here. I do know that subcarries like Volta, Freedom phone, etc are having difficulty with tmobile contracts right now. That may or may not be effecting your service. I was trying to switch from ClearUnited to Volta when Clear lost their contract with tmobile. I was never able to get my old android Sprint phone unlocked to use volta service. I am able to use their app with an internet connection which I can do and have been doing for free. They charged me once for service and not again since I didn't get the phone unlocked yet. Now I'm not sure I will continue to try considering the comments here.

Keep in mind that you can make secure calls with Signal app and only need a working phone number to start it. My current phone number with Clear is no longer in service but Signal with internet still works. The new number Volta was giving me works as well with internet service, just have to indicate a volta-out call.

Not sure what I'm going to do. Clear is taking a long time to fix the tmobile issue, and I'm not sure that Volta isn't experiencing the same issue.

If anyone has any other phone service provider suggestions, please post here.

Not surprised to see all these comments. I got involved with Volta and regret the day I started.

You who haven’t received SIM cards run. Do get involved with them, don’t start an account.

Do yourself a favor. I have been dealing with them since April 24, blocked them from my credit card and they are back this month again!

Never got their service to work paid for 2 months and can’t seem to get rid of them.

Thankfully my credit card company stopped them.

I need help. It has been 23 days and still no physical SIM card. I had already set up T-mobile to cancel. Went yesterday to T-mobile after speaking to a rep. who said I had 60 days to come back. Now, T-mobile said they couldn't give my old number back. My phone is unlocked.T-mobile gave me a prepaid sim & new #. I wish I could talk to a physical human being. I can text & call from volta, but cannot switch service from T-mobile to Volta. I was thinking about getting a google free Volta phone later after trying the service. Please help. Thank you.

Dispute the charge on your card. Find other service.

Ordered a SIM card... Never received it and I'm pretty sure they were responsible for scamming my credit card a couple days later.

I can receive text messaging, but 1 out of 10 times not send. Then they charged me twice within 6 days. Tried to give them a chance to fix things but they didn't get better, they got worse. They use to respond to my emails within 24 hours. Now it's no response at all. This company is a joke! Run, don't walk away from Volta, RUN!

Like so many others here, I tried Volta Wireless only to find out that the service DOES NOT WORK.

I immediately asked Volta to cancel my account/subscription. They keep responding that they were working on it. Now a month later, they are still working on it. They just charged my account again.

They obviously intend to just eternally charge me for NOTHING.

They also have no way to cancel the account online. They also have no phone number or any way to contact them outside of a form.

If you fall into the trap of signing up for their service, you will be miserable and sorry you did so!

PLEASE AVOID at all costs.

Currently — Volta Wireless is WAY too late in mailing me my physical SIM card! It’s coming up on 2 weeks since I paid for their “service” and so if they don’t GET MY SIM CARD TO ME by the TWO WEEK (maximum) deadline they specify I WILL be canceling my subscription! I’ll ALSO be returning here to report it! For I can hardly trust them to handle my “security” if I can’t trust them to deliver on this, initial, step they’ve suppose to have made … “within 3-5 business days.”

I’ve already messaged them TWICE regarding WHO I contact for a REFUND if they fail to meet the 2 week deadline but ALL I get is a generic cut and paste reply.

They don’t have a phone number you can call and - EFFICIENTLY - straighten things out, and get more reasonable assurances so it’s all coming across as totally BOGUS up to this point. As it is I currently CANNOT and WILL not recommend them to anyone really needing what services they ESPOUSE to provide!

I began my subscription with them, they did in fact deliver a physical sim card to me. However, they charged me twice. I have emailed and used the chat feature, however all I received in response was two duplicate emails saying, "we have forwarded this to someone who will help you. They will reach out to you when the problem is resolved". It has been a month, and nothing. Their Sim card is also not working properly. Absolute scam of a website. BEWARE!

I was trying to buy a phone from them 1st & the site won't allow it. Tried to find a way to contact them & there isn't anyway visuable. BIG RED FLAG.
