Vigo Cattery / Craig Sharpe review: cat breeder

I have two kittens from this breeder. When I met the kittens I was told by Craig the kittens had fever coat and that was why their fur looked odd. When I brought them to their first vet visit I was told by my vet they were covered in ringworm. They were so small that my vet didn't recommend medication right away so we began bathing them every other day. A few days later they then began to have horrible diarrhea. A stool sample processed by my vet indicated they had a clostridium infection, from the raw diet they had previously been on while in Craig Sharpe's care. As each of these issues came up I notified Craig of the problems and I was trying to be nice initially with the ringworm and I asked for half of the cost the vet bill for that visit. He didn't agree with my vet that the kittens were too small for oral ringworm medication and offered to mail me the prescription in addition to paying for the half of the vet bill. I agreed that I would accept the prescription and asked permission to speak to the prescribing vet about it. He said he would reach out to his vet and get back to me. His response at that point was that his vet was away and he was waiting to hear back. When I got the clostridium diagnosis I again reached out to him and he agreed to cover the cost of the vet bill and the medication which ended up being two rounds of antibiotics. The kittens were getting closer to the weight that my vet would recommend the ringworm medication so I said I would be getting that medication from my vet since I never received it from him. He again agreed to pay for the vet costs. As treatment ended, I contacted Craig again and gave him the total cost of the vet bills and he asked for my address to mail a check. I didn't receive a check and despite my reaching out multiple times have received nothing from him. In addition to these issues above, the kitten have what appear to be food allergies and require a certain type of food that I have had to switch all of my cats to so that the kittens are not exposed to the allergens accidentally. They are very cute and loving cats but I would not recommend anyone deal with Craig Sharpe or Vigo Cattery. Stay far far away!
