In one year this school was successful in turning my LD well behaved son into a delinquent with a drug habit. The school was so bad, I pulled my son out mid-year despite the fact I had paid a full year of the $50, 000 tuition and did not get a refund. Losing this money was the smartest choice we have ever made.

Was your son a boarder? The website claims that the cost for boarding a student at that school is $42 500 and for a day student is $22 500. Were you just rounding up the amount or lying?

I am deeply sorry to hear about your negative experience at Vanguard. We take pride in keeping our school a positive and safe educational atmosphere. Please feel free to contact the school directly for resolution about this subject.
My child did not get into drugs, but I heard they are abundant. Dorm parents are untrained and the lack of supervision is disgraceful. The school easily gets into the $50, 000 with the add-ons; she was most likely rounding down. I was very sad Vanguard did not live up to our hopes, but glad I was able to see what was truly going on before more damage was done.
Did any of you report your findings to the Florida Department of Education, DCF, or the LWPD (drugs on campus)?
