1. instructor is bossy, snobby, and a know it all.
2. instructor plays favorites with students
3. instructor gossips
4. instructor changes dates at last minute and does not notify students (board exam, clinicals, test dates for mid term and final)
5. instructor charges $25 for scrubs that can be purchased for $14 at nearby store
6.instructor uses examples of real-life people as well as uses their real names during lectures, then you meet these people at clinicals. the examples are not COMPLIMENTS, but rather what these CNA/LVN/RN did wrong.
7. instructor claims class days are 21 or 32 days long, yet requires review, but does not tell you it is mandatory, and if you do not attend, she will tell you that "you're going to fail."
8. instructor does not provide any textbook for class (you can purchase one on your own through AMAZON or barnes & noble however.)
9.instructor does not return phone calls
10.classroom is dilapidated & i would expect much more from a school that charges $1200 per student, and enrolls 30 students about every 3 wks.
11. instructor drives a cadillac but we paid for our own pizza party. (this is of course more just a funny statement rather than a complaint. i do not care for cadiallacs or GM in general.)

some of it is true. some isnt. Thats all I have to say about those comments. From failing the first time I came
back around with barely studying and passed with flying colors. The money not worth it. only if you have no more options on doing something else with your life. Classes took longer then I expected. If so it couldlve all been better. Almost way to easy. If someone who really showed care in you passing. Happy I got thru being in there. Proctors are rough on you. Sometimes they just think what they want and say what they want. Only if red cross really paid the right ones to do their jobs right. Mostly the ones I ran into do not Like their job. Come on guys care for the people the students.

I'm sympathetic to the difficulties associated with getting through nursing or medical school. But this reviews seems to be overly negative. My friend in Sacramento studied at Vallejo. Her only complaint was that the patient assessment lab needed a manikin or www.easyauscultation.com

WOW - that was a great experience!
This school prepares you well for what is coming. If you are considering to get into Nursing please consider Vallejo Nursing School. Currently if you are trying to become a LVN or RN at a Community College - these colleges actually require now that you have a CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant title before you can get on with your application.

If you like to work with people and want to help and make a difference - do it.

I was kind of shocked at the comments below - I guess someone failed to be so bitter.
Some comments back:

First of all - for someone being so negative - maybe this is not the right field to work in.

1. The instructor is not bossy or a know it all - she simply prepares you to what is expected from you. You will need self motivation if you want to get it done right and the instructor is a great teacher.
2. She treats everyone the same as it should be - doesn't matter what back- ground.
3. She prepares you with real life stories so you know what to expect. It doesn't help to sugar - coat in this proffession and she is respectful of others.
4. You can only learn from your mistakes and from others. This is more a helpful hint - NOT to tell you what other people did wrong.
5. Of course 32 days (for evening classes) means working days and the review at the end is for you to repeat all skills with your classmates and the instructor so that you are prepared for your exam.
6. You have to study - no one is going to buy you the exam. Pretty clear.
7. ... oh yes and you are going to fail if you don't study because you don't know what you are talking about.
8. Had an amzing time there, met so many new people who are now friends. We always got something to eat ourselves after clinical and went to the classroom to study afterwards and practice our skills.
9. Uh... it's not a hotel - you can't expect the school or instructor to lay out a buffet each evening for you with your special dietary requests. You are there to learn!
10. Please everyone - ignore this comment below because it is not worth the time reading.

Very happy graduate from Vallejo Nursing School -
Wish I could have brought some German Sauerkraut to one of our study evenings.
