Dillard's - Defective sunglasses and customer service

I bought two pair of QUAY sunglasses at Lake Jackson Dillards May 24, 2023. One had been returned by another customer, and had a small scratch. I liked it and there were no others similar. The store manager agreed to a 10% discount but no returns and I bought it. Upon leaving the store we began driving, and as the sun came out I put on the sunglasses that had the tiny scratch. I immediately realized that both lenses were defective, as they focused the sun into my eyes in a rainbow pattern, blinding me instead of shading my eyes. I immediately returned to the store. I understood when they said no refund, but I requested a store credit. I was not returning because of the scratch, which I had accepted, but because the lenses were defective and were focusing the sun into my eyes. There was no way to know until the sun was available. I tried to explain, but The store manager cut me off and simply repeated 5 times as well as the assistant manager kept repeating "we gave you a 10% discount." I tried to explain the discount was for the scratch, not for the defective lenses. Then the store manager rudely turned her back on me and walked away. I threw the sunglasses in the bag with the receipt onto the desk, because I was angry and told the assistant to enjoy them. The glasses were $75 and are not safe to wear.

I have spent thousands at Dillards over the years, but I will never set foot in this store again. This happened between 4:00 to 4:30 PM. We live in Ft Lauderdale, Florida and store managers there are much more respectful, professional, and polite to their customers. They are well trained and know how to deal with unique situations.

I know now why the Lake Jackson Dillards looks so devoid of customers every time I shopped there. We come here on business every few months. But no more shopping in this store. We will buy items for our employees in other stores.

Desired outcome: A refund of the $75 ( My receipt showed about $160 because I bought two pair. I kept the other pair). Also proper customer relations training to the poorly trained store manager.
