Emirates - ticketing/booking

My wife and I were bumped off our connection in dubai (9 jan. 2016), while travelling from delhi to dallas, tx. (ek221) we were told it was our fault because we had not used the online check-in. it was explained that even though we held tickets which had green highlighted "confirmed" written under status, we had no reservations at all because "first come first serve" for check-ins is the only factor considered when awarding seats. the ticketing agent told us that emirates views such items as "confirmed" seats as merely a "suggestion" and nothing more — essentially valueless and meaningless — but we were never told or shown or given such information by emirates.
Ironically, some 60 minutes after being bumped from our connection to dallas, at 1 hour 40 min. prior to flight departure, some of the passengers who had checked in online became "no-shows" and we were put back on the flight in the nick of time.
We did not like this treatment. we did not like being accused of causing our own problem. we did not like being put in this position of losing our seats and our meals because we had not been warned or advised to use the online check-in. we did not enjoy being subjected to "first come, first serve" policy on a connection. we did not like being stressed out, re-directed, worried, forced to compete for seats, rushed, and reduced to begging for assistance. we did not like being made to feel of no value to emirates. we were not allowed to speak to a supervisor. we could not get a definite answer on when we could get a flight home. we could not get anyone to treat us with any respect because we were only economy.

I now have another complaint. I received a complaint response from vm simpson, customer support, ny. vm simpson chose to blow me off, and not address my dislikes and the nature of my complaint. vm simpson seemed to take the position that we did get on the flight, so we should be happy with that. I think vm simpson is in the wrong position as this individual does not seem to understand what good customer service or relations consist of.
I think it only fair that we be given upgrade coupons so that if we fly emirates in the future we can hopefully get better treatment and more respect than we received on this, our first experience with emirates.
