Burger King - gift card

I Received a Burger King gift card as a Christmas gift from a friend, I have tried numerous times on the internet to verify the balance on this card... BK has made it so difficult or impossible to gain this information that I finally gave up and resorted to this forum, I have received countless gift cards from many other fast food chains, stores, service stations ect. I have never once encountered any difficulty finding the balance of any other gift card, in-fact I have always found it extremely easy and user friendly. I realize all companies love to sell gift cards as it is virtually a guarantee that a large percentage will never be redeemed. Starting off with a Gift card that can't be verified makes me reluctant to want to visit any Burger King fast food restaurant's but I would certainly like to know the balance of the card I was gifted.
